I live in Fairfield County Connecticut. We get ripped off here in the tri-state area. I've used 4 of the best in CT and NY and $10k is about the average for an exceptional full wrap in Xpel Ultimate or new Suntek film. I've never paid less for a full wrap and always on much smaller cars like GT3s or Speedster. Never wrapped anything larger than a 911.
If anyone has a good company in CT or NYC area that will wrap my entire wagon in Xpel Ultimate for $3500 please let me know. I don't want to see edges. Lol
The BBM wagon above is hot with the fake chrome trim.
Just curious what is meant by the "fake Chrome"? I might have missed something and I usually don't like chrome but wow the bright wheels really do work with all those bright edges. Is it not stock? Darked out trim would not pop like this for this color - I don't think. Gorgeous rare, combination.
How appropriate that a PPF debate has begun. I own one of the larger shops in the country - PPF makes sense when the right product is installed correctly. You could argue that it is personal preference, however it performs extremely well and can keep a car looking new for years, I have literally thousands of clients that would agree.
Now that that is out of the way, here’s my new beast wagon, thank you to whoever backed out of their epic order and made this become available.
And yes, it will be receiving full body PPF and the whole suite of ceramic coatings!

Very nice build! What is the value of ceramic coatings applied to PPF? Is the plastic material not adequate to handle UV?

Thank you! The value add of ceramic coatings is ease of maintenance. I can wash a fully-coated car (whether it’s PPF or paint) in about 1/3 of the time of an uncoated car - that’s the true value of a ceramic coating. It also stays cleaner for longer and provides a sacrificial layer of protection to take the beating from the elements, but above all, it’s ease of maintenance.

Wow great build, almost everything and just about exactly how I ordered mine. Nice find.
HBerman, the ceramic coatings just make the surface (any surface) slicker so dirt doesn't stick to it. Also makes it easier to wash and dry, everything just slides right off of it.
I left the track day tape at home like a clown and spent an hour in the dealer parking lot covering it with blue Home Depot painters tape for the drive back form Maryland.
I nursed it for over a week and handed it over to the detailer this morning for wrap. Sounds like half of you guys think I'm a sucker for full PPF, the other half think it was a no brainer, sounds like every other decision I make.
I was over budget so I skipped ceramic for now. The shop started sending pics already (which I think is a nice touch considering I didn't ask for them). I miss my baby already.

Ask the shop for a “basic coating” for $5-600, tell them you don’t want to go nuts but want a little protection. Stealth is a pain in the *** to clean when it’s not coated. I know this because we wrap 6-800 cars per year My car is in progress right now.
Tire change over, tint, full body PPF, and coating coming right up. Good impressions from the first ~100mi or so, can’t wait for break-in to be complete.

Germany....via Euromotors Germantown Mercedes (Maryland). I'd seen the name Steve Roumeliotis on mbworld and decided, on a goof, to call him from a few states away. Now Steve is my favorite person on the planet.
You will not be disappointed with a car that is almost impervious to rock chips, scratches, swirls, etc. I think I've done so much business with my guy in Knoxville that he throws in the ceramic coating gratis. He's done 3 cars for me and always beats any quote I can get for Xpel.

Thanks! It was originally ordered by another gentlemen last January or February, then he abandoned it for a RS6 apparently. I stumbled on the orphaned order in early August while calling around trying to find a 2021 after it was officially confirmed that my 2022 order had been canceled. I sold my 2020 last January to order that 2022... It's been quite the saga and I can't wait to "get my car back."
No idea when it will actually ship. It simply progressed in status from "Produced not shipped" to "Produced ship not assigned." That's supposed to mean that the factory has released it and it's in the queue now waiting for a ship assignment.

That's a long wait from January or February, but not so bad from August. I ordered mine in December and it arrived in April, but I think this was before the supply lines really broke down. I count myself lucky on that score.
