would u still buy a Mercedes if they no longer make a v8?

***I drove the EQS580; not the amg.
The very term “automobile” references “auto” as in autonomous and mobile at the same moment. This new version of the automobile concept may be mobil but it is anything but “auto”! The trend towards vehicles that are tethered not only by a power cord but are completely dependent on their onboard systems ability to be monitored continuously by the manufacturer and the inherent shortcomings of the “recharging phase” of replenishing the fueling element has removed any concept of automation from the automobile.
So instead of experiencing the vicarious thrills of modifying and customizing an ice means of conveyance a person is reduced to dialing up a computer upgrade to customize their ride. Sounds like fun, not, in fact it is the simple extension of what a electrically powered car is, a soulless method of transportation.
This aspect may appeal to those that have found fulfillment and contentment in the various distractions we call social media, internet edification and home schooling, those that still desire the satisfaction of wrenching on a archaic piece of mechanized mayhem with the intent of extracting the directly proportional satisfaction from the efforts expended will never close the chapter on the ICE playbook.
I will always own a V8 powered vehicle, I will always enthusiastically pursue the quest to extract a higher level of performance and comfort from my V8 powered vehicle. I will embrace the concept of a boring and soulless ELV when they can be modified and customized by me in my humble garage because that’s where I enjoy spending some of my time as opposed to reading about these things on line.
To the point I am now pursuing the goal of obtaining what many consider to be one of AMG’s finest contributions to the V8’s incredible versatility as in the m113k platform across the various series. I absolutely defy any person to show me a more soul searing experience than a modified m113k vehicle doing what it does best, pin you back in the seat while dispatching with 1320 feet of asphalt in less than 11 seconds.
I have driven the various iterations of Teslas fast cars, you don’t even know how quick it is because it’s so boring, there are absolutely no visceral indications that this car is quick other than a time slip. It’s like going to a concert without hearing the music or fishing without catching a fish or heaven forbid skiing with never experiencing deep powder.
They say it is the time for these vehicles to be developed, I can’t help but wonder if this isn’t another misguided attempt to wean us off of fossil fuels, if it is truly meant to be a benefit for the world in terms of economic benefit and ecological issues why are the downsides suppressed in lieu of a feel good doing the right thing attitude? When the dark side of this movement is examined it leaves me with far more questions than answers.
Some day not to far off because I am as some enlightened individuals would point out “from that horrible generation that protested war, racial inequities and big government” making me a older and clueless individual, regardless of that I hope to have a few blown AMG’s in my garage just waiting for that instant recognition of what’s under the hood.
