I'm so angry and sad that I've decided to start a new thread. I made the decision to consolidate from two cars (2019 GT3 RS and 2013 Cayenne S) to one car (2021 AMG E63S Wagon). Back in January, I had gotten my PO approved and spec'd with Designo Olive Metallic exterior and Designo Auburn Broan interior - it was a second week of May build slot with an extra 12-15 weeks for the Designo process. In June, the update was production completion by end of July (inline with the guidance all along going back to February). As everyone now knows, the factory never got to the end of July without disruption, so my MY 2021 got shifted to a MY 2022, and now, everyone knows there won't be any 2022s. I sold my 2019 GT3 RS back in April and had a firm buyer for my 2013 Cayenne S lined up for early September (whom I've had to bail on). At present, I have neither a hardcore sports car nor a hardcore family car.

Where does that leave me? I'm open to buying a 2021 wagon w/ <5,000mi from a MBWorld enthusiast and understand the market we are in. Maybe there's middle ground? Maybe you're not 100% thrilled with your car? The only criteria I have is not Obsidian Black and not Blue Magno. Feel free to reply or DM me.

Lastly, I saw a post on IG from Monterey week of a 2021 E63S Wagon in Designo Olive Metallic - would be incredibly grateful if someone here knows who that person is and could make an intro. The person who posted the pic doesn't know who the owner is (I already sent a DM to the poster).

Thanks in advance for replying

Any other wagon that may interest you ? I think Audi rs6 Avant can be sourced out somewhat easier.

This may be controversial to some, but I don’t think it handles as well and I don’t think it looks as good

Looks are obviously very subjective and the only thing that could be argued in the RS6’s favor. I think both look good, but the RS6 is much louder in its style. The E63 absolutely handles better, it’s faster (more raucous), brake feel is better, and sounds waaay better. Oh and don't forget, less plentiful. Go on autotrader et al and search for used model year 2021’s of each…

That's a shame! The MBUSA designo office wasn't able to help at all?

i would think twice about this, tuned-tires and wheels-down pipes and sport exhaust just might tickle your fancy....

Nope. To be fair, they were helpful that they confirmed that my 2021 got rolled into a 2022 and the approval for designo spec options that I wanted got carried over, but nothing they could do once production got halted in July and then nothing they could do once the 2022 news came out in August

I consolidated my ‘14 911 C4S and ‘19 Cayenne S into a ‘21 E63S wagon. Very happy with my decision so far. Had some money left over so upgraded my pickup truck as well.

Damn rocket...I was looking forward to your build.

That pic from Monterey has got to be both a little bit painful but also a little bit hopeful...best of luck on the hunt.

It's a long shot but maybe the DM USA office can pass along your sincere intent to buy the car, without them having to reveal any of that owner's personal info to you.

Yes olive green metallic is amazing. Funny to see how positively people react to a "green" color, which seems otherwise generally a despised hue. Maybe green is getting trendy again? Anyway, definitely what I'd get if ordering a G-vagen.

Thanks for that! Amazing color!. Been trying to track down a picture of a amg gt black series in the olive metallic. Apparently its a build spec for a customer in North America. Interesting to see how that works.

I'm not into red, but in any case, I hear it's an 8,200mi press / MBNA car where the buyer would be the first title owner, but that's a lot of miles. Greatly appreciate the thought though, thank you

Oddly, I thought I replied successfully from my iphone earlier, but now that I'm back at my computer and looking, I can't seem to find a record of my response. Even more bizarrely, I can't seem to find a record of your msg in my inbox. Anyway, I tried to send you a new private message and I can't seem to do that either. I think you may have the private message function turned off?

Gotcha, I still can't seem to send a DM. If that doesn't activated in the coming days, we'll figure out something else (like text or email etc.)
