New to BENZ! Looking for E63 Wagon!
After decades + of ownership of audis / bmws ready to give the AMG world a try (and my first mercedes!)
After driving a buddies e63 wagon totally got me excited again for super sports sedan (wagon!) - my last one being an RS7!!
Looking for 18+ E63 wagon preferrably in MATTE GRAY, but will do black as well. Looking for any leads private party ONLY (saves me on tax in AZ!). Please reach out to me if you got one to sell. Thanks guys!!
Recently missed this one on BAT, basically would be my perfect spec (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...benz-amg-e63s/)
Love the matte cars esp as a toy -- pic of my last RS7 for attention!!
Glad to be here!!

In the months I spent looking for an 18-20 E 63 S Wagon. Over 10 came up for sale in Selenite Grey Magno (matte grey). It was a pretty common occurrence. With time the right spec will appear! We have also owned a few BMWs like you and this is our first Mercedes.

My buddies locally was also matte and that seems to MAKE that car , especially in person!! Always been a wagon fan, and like but dont LOVE the RS6. Im a big fan of the previous platform, but not in love with the current lineup of RS cars. The amg wagon seems to have a bit more of a mystique to me as well and don't see those as often as RS6' around phoenix.
This one was cool too with swapped wheels and cream interior w/ bucket seats (have not seen buckets in that color before on the E63s)

Yeah - not that rare so I will be patient to find the right one. I love the matte as long as not daily driver - having owned one I know what it takes to take care of it.

I did the same move from Audi/BMW because I wanted a performance wagon and E63s was only one choice. 3.5 years of ownership with no problems and lots of good roads.

I will take either but preference goes to the sport seats for me!

Just called on this matte USED '21 - dealer is asking $180K. Is that typical going rate on '21s today? Seems a bit TOO far out there.

The market for wagons seems to gone crazy for the last few weeks. Few things seem to be combining. Challenges delivering the 21's and a lot of folks had 21 builds pushed to 22. Then 22 builds were all changed to V6 and Merc confirmed no V8 next year except S class (and maybe G I think). Concern about next gen being 4 cylinder with heavy hybrid. And then just a few days ago an interview came out with a Merc top dog questioning whether certain platforms (coupe, cab, wagon) will be viable in the future.
All combined the market for new and used wagons has gone bananas for a couple of weeks. Any available 21's have big markups over MSRP, and the auction sites (bring a trailer in particular) have had some crazy sales. Just a couple of weeks ago a 2020 went for $141k, 20k over it's original MSRP. And another I saw a 2015 (in a fairly unique color) go for $90k and apparently is now listed on autotrader for $109k.
Did get me to think whether I should trade out of mine and try to catch the wave, but the wife and I decided we like the car too much and will keep it for the long haul.
I do tend to keep an eye on the market, and there's still decently priced options out there. Hard to know if the current hysteria will be a blip or more of a trend towards higher prices long term.
All above is just my opinion of course. Good luck with the search.

I just bought the warranty extension that will take me to 7 years and 100k, so I'm covered until 2025. It's a crazy time.

2024 AMG EQE SUV , 2021 E63S Wagon - gone, 2018 E63S Sedan - gone
Dealers are catching on to what they've got and are starting to markup all their used AMGs. I was recently told one of the sales managers at a local Mercedes has been spending most of this time the past couple weeks on dealer auction sites, autotrader, etc. picking up any reasonable deals on AMGs to resell. Preparing for little to no AMG V8 inventory for the next year or two at minimum...possibly forever depending on chip supply chain which isn't expected to normalize until 2023 at the earliest.

In the meantime, the current used market for E63S wagons is going for what the purchasers will ultimately pay. I've watched the auctions froM Las Vegas and I see cars going for 100,000's dollars more than their original MSRP. If you want one of these units, decide soon before there is no more inventory. Just my 2 cents here.

Thanks! Sure is missed.
Yeah market is a bit all over the place - but there are quite a few of them for sale / autotrader. Holding out for right spec as well (and private party!) - and if the price inches towards the mid 150s then the RS6 also starts making sense for me, although I'd prefer to take a little break from audis. I'd like to stay at the 100K mark which is totally doable currently.
I also purchased the 7-year ELW several months ago. I'm not sure if I will keep my 2021 wagon that long, but I know that my lease-end buyout is only $72K in 2024. Every option (except CF engine cover) is installed I certainly will be purchasing it for that price as its true value will most likely be 40-50K higher. My next car will most likely be an EV, but the wagon may be a "forever" car. Maybe I should be taking names for people who might want to purchase it from me at that time.

Socialpro, just expect things to keep going up as the market continues to tighten. ADM on new/low-mileage CPO '21s was ~5-10k a month ago, ~20-25k a few weeks ago and is trending up past 30k now. It looks like the market for '18-'20 isn't lagging too far behind so if you see something even remotely interesting to you at a price you're comfortable with, jump on it--even if it isn't the perfect spec.

Hey OP, there's a 2020 well optioned black on black just come up on Cars and Bids. Already at $103 (with 6 days to go) but may be worth watching to see if it works for you. At the very least will give you another data point on the current market.

I was gonna bid up to $115 all in (with fees) - but it surpassed that last few minutes. If it had the sport seats would of went higher, potentially to win the car.
In the end this car didn't have the #1 choice exterior I wanted (matte grey / matte black) OR the sport seats - so was easy to let her go. Fair price considering year, mileage and condition.

That said, I'm thrilled with it. It feels quite a bit more solid than the 2017 RS7 I bought a couple months ago.
