E63S Sedan no longer on the MBUSA Website
I received a phone call from a colleague today and he was told by a reliable source that the E63S Sedan is no more. I decided to look on the website and it only shows the 53. I thought it was only the E63S wagon that was no longer on the site.

It should come back for MY23 but MY22 E63s in the USA is discontinued cuz of no V8s for that model year in the USA.

MBUSA trying to milk $$ out of GT V8s. The E63S was too much of a bargain.

Panamera is as close to a bargain as one would get on a E63s, but damn that car is built like a tank compared to the E, rides better, and almost as fast (new turbo S)

Compared to what though? Porsche Panamera? BMW M5? Audi RS7? Not much of a bargain compared to any of these.

The GT-4 Door V8 is also discontinued for MY22, we are only getting the GT43 and GT53 (with a V8 appearance package). Only MY22's that will be getting V8's is the new AMG SL and S-Class. Its also unknown if the GT63 will return with a non-hybridized V8 as they have only given details on the GT63S E-Performance so far.

Agree, while many compare the Panny to the E63 and M5, I've always considered it a short-wheelbase flagship vehicle, like a modern replacement for a SWB 7-Series. And prices are very, very expensive in typical Porsche fashion, even more than the already expensive GT4D. Before the pandemic there was a time where you could get huge discounts on these, especially the Sport Turismo wagons as dealers had trouble moving them and they sat forever (some for close to a year or more), they had insane depreciation.

I might have waited for the AMG EQE instead of getting the E63s...if it didn't look like a smaller version of whatever that blob up there is.

Not to mention that Mercedes themselves says V8 has a future: https://www.thedrive.com/news/42488/...years-for-sure
The worse I think is they will just throw in some hybrid tech or e-performance tech but at least still keep the V8 running in the W213 for the years to come.
That being said, next generation (W214) wasn't seen testing yet this late of the year means it is probably unlikely there will be a whole new generation E-Class sedan (W214 being that successor).
The ban on new gasoline cars in Europe by 2035 doesn't help either. It is possible the W213 will get yet another facelift and continue until the end of ICE in Europe.
It's a shame because the MRA2 platform (with all that money spent in R&D) can (or at least so far) only been used on the W206 C-Class.

No news yet on that actually but very likely V8 is green lit for North America in the W213 for 2023. The coupe and cabriolet however might get the 4 cylinder only (hopefully not though) and replaced by the CLE.

The horses are now in the barn, 2019 E63s
Too funny.
The intimacy of this group could possibly go in either direction. More will join as they become new owners of preowned cars and lean on the forum for its wealth of information. Or it could possibly diminish in membership as owners sell off their cars.

Thanks for your comment, Alan Smithee. After I mentioned that all the R&D spent on the MRA 2 platform to only be used on the W206 C-Class is a waste, I realized I completely forgot that the upcoming CLE will use that platform.
Thanks for mentioning the Macan, that is a good example.
I am guessing this possible second facelift for the W213 will just be a swap of headlights for DIGITAL LIGHTS and then copy and paste the W206 interior and call it a day which is enough to keep it fresh until the end of ICE I guess but I am hoping MB does more than just copy and paste though...
I was actually curious to see what the headlight design will be like on a W214, as the current W213 facelift's headlight and tailight design language is similar to the all new models of the C-Class (W206) and S-Class (W223) and for them to call it a new generation (W214) it only makes sense to come up with a completely new design which they wouldn't have to if they facelift the W213 yet again. The W205 facelift didn't get that sharp angle light design which first appeared on the C257 CLS and then on the A-Class (Mercedes calls it the predator look as per their sensual purity design philosophy) for example because they know and have a W206 planned, which did get that design.
The facelift 2022 C257 CLS got new wheels, the grille from the W206, new wheel designs, new front bumper (which looks like a sad face actually, maybe because it isn't happy that it got ignored by Mercedes after they released the AMG GT 4-door, the CLS didn't even get a 63 model), softer suspension tuning, MBUX (actually I think it was first available on the 2021 CLS which is the pre-facelift) and other minor changes to the car.
Speaking of the AMG GT 4-door, it got a facelift which I think only had new wheels, softer suspension tuning and bumper slats vertical instead of horizontal plus some other minor changes to the car. Much less changes than the CLS facelift.
Will be interesting to see what the future holds for MB and AMG.

Thanks for sharing js_cls!
The taillights seems pretty slim and it appears that there might be a light bar like the EQ models?
