Help with winter tires - offset - for e53 amg my21/22
Hi all,
Trying to fit some winter tires and wanted to see if this spacing will look too weird? Both front and rears gonna stick out a bit more but wonder if that is too much - rear especially?
below are the specs of the tires that I got (squared setup).
any suggestions or pictures if someone has similar setup?
car comes with 20x8 ET20 front and 20x9 ET49 rear.
the front is 19mm closer to the suspension components. There is a chance it may rub (esp. from lock-to-lock). If you use spacer of say 5mm, then it will then extend the front wheel outward to about 12mm and still leaving 14mm closer to the suspension components.
the rear without any spacer is already extended out 23mm, I think it may look pretty odd with that much out and a slight chance it will rub against the fender.
Ya seems like they stick out too much - will do fit test but likely need different rims. Hard to fit for this car weird offsets and stagger. Any success stories?
MB wheels, esp AMG version are very odd and somewhat hard to find. It's going to take a long search online to find one that is suitable and looks good at the same.
I just went through this on my 2019 E53 Cabrio. What a pain I was looking at preoened AMG wheels, and had offset issues. I did not want to spend $7500 for what my dealer offered me. I went to Tire Rack and plugged in my car year and choices were not good, like not much coming up. . Then I plugged in a 2021 E53 and used that but I went staggered. I went with a brand made by OZ, called MSW. I admit I was trying to save money and these wheels were way cheaper than many others. I went 19 also for mor cushion and I went non runflat Vredsteins Wintrac Pro. wheels are 8.5 ET20 and 9.5 ET45 ( OEM is 49 like yours, so these stick out 10mm more and 2 mm more to inside. Loads of room in fact I could go out more .
On another thread someone said they did 15 mm spacers and it looked right. Yours would be like 23 mm spacers. I think they would poke out too far. My fronts are 6mm more in each direction and they fit nice. They could both poke a little more but I figure for winter it’s better like this. With my winter fronts , the extra half inch is split even inside and out . I checked the clearance to the upper control are , just looking and sticking my finger in there and there wasn’t much space available. Kind if a crude measurement but makes me wonder if there is another 13 mm of room there to fit a 26 offset. The website I used with the calculator is called QuattroTires.com.
