I prefer the look of the 5-spoke, but like the strength of the multi (but prefer them in black)

I personally like the look of the 5 spokes and had the forge on the S63. Driving on the freeway pouring rain and went through several big SoCal potholes and “cracked” 3 wheels and blew through 4 tires. The story is if you go through α pothole at high rate of speed, you will bend/crack them forged or not. I had always had the wheels and tires protection package which always pays for itself.

The 5-spoke wheels are much softer than the forged wheels, that's for sure. Of course, if you are going into large potholes, the wheels and tires are the least of your problems. Wheel and tires protection packages typically cover only the factory-installed tires and wheels. Changing them out usually means no coverage. That said, some of the wheel packages are not that specific in limiting coverage that way.

For sure, the 5 spokes are softer compared to the forged wheels, but you can purchase the limited or unlimited claims for the wheels and tires package and when replaced, even 1 wheel or 1 tires, they will realign the car and fix or adjust anything out of factory specs. under warranty.

If anyone is interested, I might sell my old wheels. They are the 2021 20” staggered model with gray accents, Pirelli PZero tires and around 6500 miles.

Check my username. I only had time to post this reply because I'm not still cleaning spokes.

I prefer the 5 spoke - in my opinion, it's a much "cleaner" look. I have them on my incoming 2022 GLS 450.

2018 E63s wagon [now sold] (& lots of Subarus)
i have the "forged" multispoke on my '18 wagon and as far as i'm concerned they are made of tinfoil. when i got the car 3 wheels were bent, had 2 replaced and 1 repaired. 6 months later and 2 are bent again
i blame the 20" tire profile just being too thin. definitely going to try some 19" wheels soon

Your car was also from NYC where the roads look like Mordor. What tire pressures are you running? My cold pressures are 40 all around and I don't have issues.

true yeah but i've bent 2 wheels since having the car in portland for a year and the roads i drive on are fine. one of them was a brand new wheel that was just replaced
I run it around 40psi.

i'm in the process of trying to buy some aftermarket wheels because at least then if bent one its cheaper lol

This is the exact reason I always purchase the wheel and tire protection, it always always pays for itself. Just 1 factory OEM wheel and MO tire from the dealer will cost more than the wheel and tire protection itself and if live in places like SoCal, you will bend/crack at lease once during ownership.

yeah had i known the wheels would be so (edit) "damage prone", i would have bought that, looking back. First car i've ever had with 20" wheels so... lol
however, you still dont get new wheels under that protection, you get refurb ones from some third party. There were 2 refurb wheels already on my car when i bought it, one got replaced by insurance, but the other wasnt bent, however now all the paint is coming off it, and the dealer is like "oh thats not covered because its not a factory wheel" even though mercedes put the wheel on the car (previously under the protection package)
Classic "we'll sell it to you but we wont take responsibility for it"
