Hey all, so I'm likely trading my W212 E63s for a 2018 W213 E63s in a few days. During the test drive, I heard a hiss/whoosh during very light acceleration (drive mode did not matter). Could be heard with windows up or down. I'm familiar with blow off valves in other vehicles but usually only hear it when you let off the gas. But in this case, it was inconsistent. Maybe a boost or vacuum leak?
Dealer and tech said it was normal. Any ideas what I can have them check to ensure it's truly ok? I'm also just reaching out here to see if everyone actually hears it as well. Thank you so much, looking forward to this replacement over my W212

I hear it with gear changes, not sure if it's the VTA valve or MCT making the noise.
Thank you for your input! Hoping I hear similar from a few others to ensure this is really in fact "normal". Closest I could explain to the dealer was a "blow off valve" sound...knowing there probably wasn't one installed aftermarket.

Mine also had the same sound when it was stock without BOV's.
Thank you for confirming! Guess nothing for me to worry about with this trade

Well I made the trade and took the W213. Turns out there's a set of Renntech BOV's installed. Told the dealership to leave them on and get me a set of the stock ones just in case. Thank you everyone for the feedback.

Are you Under warranty or CPO?? If so this violates the warranty
They CPO'd it. Both the sales advisor and the Master AMG tech said it would not violate warranty or CPO certification.

I would make a case with Mbusa to document this
VMI shows status 0. Do you think I need something further than an email from my dealer in order to properly document this?

I would absolutely have the dealership memorialize it in writing.

Is there drilled holes in your vehicle or documentation that there were BOV's? If so you're screwed across the nation in other Benz service centers
yes make the case to
mbusa and have dealer manager memorialize this agreement and submit it to Mbusa -- open a complaint to Mbusa 800-367-6372
by COO standards it should not have been cleared

Helps to have it in writing from the dealer on a CPO car, but VTAs don’t really do anything besides make sounds. If any MB dealer or service department voids your warranty for VTAs they would have to be extremely petty, in which case they would become a dealer I would avoid doing any business with.
I figured as well. I do have it in email. But nothing else formal on letterhead or any master tech physically signing a letter. I'll try to get something else in writing, but as of now...that's all I have.
