AMG Performance seats C Class to E Class?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if C Class AMG Performance seats fit in a W213 E Class?

Thank you!

Pretty sure the E class ones are slightly different but I can't be certain. It's also going to be a pain to retrofit

There's been several inquiries here about retrofitting E class performance seats with no definitive answers. So retrofitting C Class? Probably something no one that frequents this forum has done.

Sorry as I have nothing to add to op's post . But how are these performance seats for a daily driver comfort wise ? I see they have a ton of adjustments.. Love the look , just wasn't sure how stiff they are on a daily basis..

They are awesome, that's really all I can say. Some of the best seats I've had in a car. I've driven in them up to 12 hours in a single day. They are comfortable and supportive in all the right places, however, any seat is only as comfortable as much as it fits the shape of your body. A seat doesn't have to be soft to be comfortable. If it fits your body, supports the weight in the right places and doesn't cause pressure points then the seat is comfortable. The most comfortable seats are those that are specifically tailored to one's body. So comfort ultimately comes down to what shape you are in. These seats are generally designed for the average European male, 180 cm/75 kg (~5'11"/~165-170lbs). I'm right in that ballpark, and you do need to be somewhat fit to lift yourself in and out of them over the bolsters. More so on a lower car like my C63S coupe. I tell you this, though. I did European Delivery and visited my septuagenarian parents in Switzerland. My mom who's the first to complain about comfort usually, wanted to always ride in my car when we went somewhere. It was entertaining how she got in and out, but that didn't stop her from riding along.

I absolutely love them. There is definitely a period where you get "used" to them, but after that most other car seats kinda suck. I daily my E63 and take it on long drives for business, and I never get to the point where I'm fatigued by them. Not everyone fits in them per Superswiss' comments. I'm 6', 215 and they fit like a glove.

Anyone happen to know how rare the performance seat option is in the 213 E63's ? Found one with the perf. seats , rest of the specs arent all ideal but it looks like sacrificing some options for the seats is more on the realistic side of things ha.
Seats really are a game changer in the looks and feel department I feel. Never paid much mind to them .

I agree, I will keep looking for a set here in NA. My current seats are cooled and heated, I imagine the C to E (or E class specific seats) are the same.

I remember when I ordered my E63 wagon, I was worried about the performance seats and fitting (I am 6'-2" and 230lbs). I sat in a C63 with the performance seats and I did not fit in them at all which gave me a lot of concern. When my E63 arrived, the seats were perfect in every way, which tells me the C63 seats are narrower than the E63 seats. I noted that in the AMG Driving Academy too.

The seats are the best seats I've ever owned in a car...outside of the ones in our XC90 R Design (which are the best seats in the market in my opinion). The Mercedes ones are just right, and when I sit in the normal ones in the E63 they feel like sofas in comparison (and not in a good way!)

I've been to a few events and drove multiple models with the performance seats, including a few weeks ago the EU spec carbon fiber bucket seats in the GT BS. I did not get the impression that some of them are narrower. They all seem to have the same width pretty much. However, I had a similar experience the first time I sat in them in a C63 at an auto show. At the time I wasn't aware that both the lower and upper side bolsters can be inflated and turned out somebody before me had inflated them. I was actually heaver back then, too, so it was very tight, but later discovered that with fully deflated side bolsters they are plenty wide. Now that I weigh less I actually wished I could inflate them some more. They do hold me in place pretty good, but I do have a bit of room. For normal driving I keep them fully deflated, though for maximum comfort.

It's funny you mention Volvo seats as being top tier. I had a '98 Volvo C70 and I still maintain those were some of the best seats I've ever had in a car. Volvo seats are underrated.

I just went from a 2017 c63s to a 2018 e63s, both with perf seats, and didn't notice a difference in size FWIW.
