Ventilated seats functioning correctly?

Does anyone have any complaints about their ventilated seats not being all that impressive? I swear my wife’s Mazda has better functioning ventilate seats than my 21 E63s. You can actually hear and feel the difference. Either there is something wrong with both of my seats or the ventilated seats on these cars are really underwhelming. You can barely tell that they are on.

there have been previous threads on this.. i think. i asked Mercedes about mine as my Ford is way better (live in super hot part of Texas). Mercedes says it is unhealthy to have too much cold air on those parts of the body, so they only provide minimal ventilation (no actual air conditioning). its just a fan that blows air from the cabin.

I've had three W213 cars and they are all subpar in that regard. My old ford edge was way better and my wife's highlander, too.

Yup. MB ventilated seats are garbage. I can barely feel it (or not at all) on a hot day. My Porsche 911 has much better ventilated seats.

The ventilated seats, at least in my ‘21 model don’t blow air. Rather they pull air in, so they create a bit of a cooling effect initially and then continue to function by creating air flow in the perforated area with suction.

This is true, the seats pull cabin air to 'cool' your seat. Whatever the temp is in the cabin is the temp you're get on your bum.

Which seats do you have? I have the ventilated performance seats in my C63 coupe and the ventilation works great. When I get in the car and the seat is hot, the ventilation quickly cools them down, and any time I feel a sweat coming on I turn them on and I'm quickly comfortable. I keep them on when hitting up the canyons and working up a sweat and they keep me comfortable and avoid the sweaty back syndrome. They cool as much as you cool the cabin. The main point of ventilation is for your back to be able to breath. I feel ventilation pretty instantly cooling down my back side, but once I'm comfortable I don't really feel it anymore, but it continues to keep me comfortable. It may work better with the performance seats, because the side bolsters essentially form a seal, so w/o ventilation there isn't much air getting behind there. The side bolsters are also perforated with the performance seats. Not sure if they are perforated with the regular seats, too.

Performance seat ventilation works fine, non-performance has sucked on every AMG I've had.

And that's the ironic part. The performance seats are perceived as uncomfortable by many, but as I've pointed out before to me they are more comfortable than many so-called comfort seats where you sink in and need to constantly use your muscles to stay in the seat. My theory is that because the normal seats are softer, one's body seals the perforation in the leather, so the ventilation isn't as effective.

‘21 wagon (with massage seats), my wife has been complaining about cool feature being subpar in both sides since day 1. This is on the to do list for first dealer service.
Reading this thread it sounds like a design related flaw not sure what the service technician can do?

And the exhaust vent is on the back side of the front seat…now I know what to do when I don’t like someone back there!

I also complained about the seats. I have a 2019 E53 Convertible, and performance seats. I had a Lincoln loaner last year, when my GT was in for service, and it froze my nuts and back off!!! Fantastic cooling capacity, the E53 totally underwhelming!!!

Some manufacturers actually pipe AC into the seats, Mercedes just pulls ambient air which just doesn't cut it for most people.
