W213 Wheel Option Question
Figured I would ask as maybe someone has ran into this before , this is the second w213 e63 i've been pretty serious about flying out to inspt . and found the wheels on the build sheet will say RTS but it has the RTP or vise versa . I guess typo's can happen but twice is odd . Not a big deal/deal breaker persay, but I try to be as ocd as possible not to miss stuff lol . Guessing the dealer swapping for take off's - if one or 2 of the rts style is damaged upon trade in is a possibility , as I know they are pricey.
Also side note found a 2018 E63 with no pano roof , seems pretty rare as I haven't came across it in my searching yet . Probably decreases the value if anything ha . But in theory am I wrong in thinking it may be a little tighter with no creaking or popping down the road .. may be a good thing . Weight saving is probably a drop in the bucket on these beasts lol

Gotcha , hence the 1700 extra for RTS . Honestly I prefer the look of the rtp's depending on the color combo, grew on me. I don't see an owner who paid 120k swapping for a lower option wheel in these cases , thinking this is dealers more so . Anything is possible out there .

Just so you know, forged wheels are not necessarily stronger. What they are mostly is lighter, because less material is needed to achieve the same strength as a non-forged wheel, thereby reducing unsprung weight. Helps with turn in, acceleration and braking.

When I ordered my 2021 sedan I opted to go with a sunroof and avoid the panorama. That was based on my experience with the pano roof in our GL450 that pops and creaks all the time, even though the dealer has had it in on more than one occasion to deal with it. We have a second GL450 with a sunroof and it is solid with no issues of noise. I can't stand hearing it and keep waiting for the glass to explode.

Just curious , are the forged rts wheels alot lighter then the rtp & the other non forged wheel options ?

A bit of a late reply, partly because I don't have the weight figures and I never lifted one of them, but I just had to take a rear wheel off my C63S for the first time. Although I have the RXC forged wheels, which are also found on the AMG GT and supposedly even lighter I was amazed at how light the wheel was coming off. Compared to the 20" non-forged wheels on my previous car with 275 rubber, which were a **** to get off and on w/o a wheel hanger, these were featherlight in comparison with 285 rubber. I can grab one spoke lift the whole wheel with tire in one hand and easily hold it up in front of me (two hands, though) to load it into the back of my wife's car. Felt less than 40 lbs and the tire alone is 27 lbs, so I'm guessing wheel is around 10 lbs or less. A typical non-forged wheel with tire in that size easily weighs over 50 lbs, so the wheel would be over 20 lbs.
