Blind Spot Assist Volume too loud

Can't seem to figure out how to reduce the volume. Can't stand the loud beeps when I turn on a signal in traffic to move into another lane. I was able to find the park assist volume adjustment pretty easily.

There's no volume setting for this or the collision warning etc. They are meant to grab your attention. Don't turn on your blinker with cars in your blind spot, then it won't beep. I don't have this issue in traffic. It also is only active above 8 mph, so for really slow merges it shouldn't beep, but when changing lanes I'm not one of those that sets the blinker and then never merges. I wait for an opening and then quickly blink and merge. It never beeps at me. Around here if you blink too early, pretty much nobody will actually let you in.

The car has blinkers? :-)

What I do find annoying is the occasional activation of the anti-collision system when you're shooting for a hole in traffic. You know you're going to change lanes, but the car doesn't and it thinks given the closing rate on the car in front that you're going to hit it and the nannies kick in cutting throttle and hitting the brakes, etc. First time was kind of a surprise.

Usually not that aggressive in traffic, but it's happened a couple of times in the almost five years I've had the car.

I wonder how it gets along when you track the car, or maybe it's disabled in Race mode?

I only get the warning tone in those situations, like when I'm accelerating behind the car in front and it thinks I;m gonna crash into it, but as soon as I make the lane change it detects what I'm doing. Never had it cut throttle or step on the brakes. On the track it's a bit annoying, but it can be turned off (temporarily) and it's off if ESP is off at least in my C63.

Thanks for the replies. Such a bummer. I don’t want to have to change my driving style just to avoid beeps. I like to signal ahead in traffic while exiting a highway and sometimes like to see if someone will yield to me.

The beep happens to me all the time, really ruins my vibe when I have music blasting and I'm shooting between two Priuses (Prii?)
I've only had the brakes kick in once and it was in slow traffic when a vehicle in front of me stood on the brakes to stop for a cyclist who was being an ***.

You'll know the Pre Safe has fired when the seat belts tighten (more than the little tug when you get in the car), the noise burst fires off and the anti-collision nannies kick in - it's not just a beep.

I've never had the windows or sun roof open but supposedly those close too.

You have to be cutting it fairly close at a high closing rate for this to happen. As I said, only a few times in five years as I usually don't drive that aggressively - but I can ;-)
