Is $15k Over Silly For A 2023 E63S Wagon
Hey guys haven't been on here in a while. Salesman called me today that there was an allocation for a march build 2023 E63S Wagon. A previous sales manager had put in the request for me but he has left the company. Anyways I went in to build it today and I got a little surprise at the end where the dealer wanted me to agree to pay $15k over sticker. Now this MB dealer is owned by autonation, so they're very corporate and could care less about relationships
1. 2009 SLR Roadster for $349k
2. 2021 E63S Wagon $148k MSRP
3. 2021 G63 $182K sticker, I paid $257k because I just got tired of waiting for an allocation
4. 2022 GLS63 $147k sticker
meanwhile I traded in to them
1. 2013 Rolls Royce Ghost
2. 2016 S550
3. 2021 RS6 Avant
4. 2021 E63S Wagon
5. 2021 G63
Basically not only have they made a fortune off of me, but today they told me "we have to make money too". Good lord, I spent $1m in 2 years, traded in alot of nice cars, some I know they flipped like my e63 wagon they sold for $25k over what they paid me in 1 day when I saw it on the site. These dealers are such disgusting pigs today, but what can we do? I'm easily their best customer in one of the biggest cities in the country, and they still treat me like a second class citizen.
Anyways, i attached my paperwork below, I agreed to $15k over, it stings on principle, but I wanted to ask, I've seen numbers thrown around of 9 allocations on here, that can't be true? Also my salesman said he knew nothing about a final edition wagon, he said this is probably it. I know its not, right? They still haven't gotten me a final price but this is sounding like $175k + tax. That is crazy steep because I have a beautiful 2022 RS6 avant I got for sticker $137k. What would you do here? Take the car bc its the end of an era? Or just tell this dealer to kick rocks. O and I asked this dealer 2 months back about the new 4x4 they told me $150k over AND they just lost a good friend of mine who skipped on his maybach bc they wanted $75k over. In 6 months we will be mired in a deep recession and these dealers will be begging us to come pay sticker, just terrible how they're acting like they can't profit today by selling cars at sticker.

Also I know alot of people on here are full of it, but here are the cars I mentioned above, all but the White SLR, I sold that on BAT last year and the matte RS6 thats still my daily, the rest all got traded back to that dealer on other cars and they made a fortune off them, so I have been a great customer for them

Chewbs - the problem is my entire relationship is with this 1 dealer, i would have to start all over somewhere else, but they're all the same. Nobody is going to give me an e63s wagon if I've never purchased from them, every dealer has their best clients this stuff is allocated for.

I had it for 6-7 months, I bought it last feb, i couldn't keep it, for once the insurance was astronomical $7200/yr for 1000 miles, I don't know why bc I have had other similar priced cars that weren't that price, I assume replacement parts. I put 600 miles and sold it on BAT last year, I was fully accepting taking a loss on it, somehow in the last 10 minutes the auction went nuts and I got $450k and ended up making quite a bit. Truthfully, beautiful machine, but drove quite poorly, and getting in/out was tough. Beautiful to gawk at, was the only one ever built in that white/tan spec I found out later when I emailed Mclaren to get some background.

These are crazy times and the dealers are taking advantage of it while they can. It wouldn't be possible if people weren't willing to pay the "ransom". With so few wagons being built I don't any dealer selling without some amount of markup. Personally, I've never wanted any car bad enough to pay above sticker, but, it is a personal choice. The dealer you are using is clearly decided the extra profit is worth the chance of losing a loyal customer. To me, that would leave a very bad taste.

Last I checked dealers sold cars for sticker for many years and it was a profitable venture. It's just really disappointing because I do want the car and I know it's the last of its kind so I'd like it for my collection as a keepr, but the way these dealers are acting, when we hit a downturn again and we will at some point, they're going to be begging customers to come back.
Is mercedes really ok with dealers doing this? I know I read a story of how a dealer in houston had a $90k markup on the new Z06 and the post went viral and the dealer backtracked and is giving them for sticker.

Why bother sticking with the same dealer, just buy it at an another dealer and when they see you at the service time, they'd realize what mistake they made. Regarding " we have to make money too", why not split the $15,000 that way both of you are happy and the business stays as usual

Humble brag much? Obviously throw away your money if you want to, but why solicit opinions?

The 2023 E63s Wagon is expected to be the last hurrah of the model and produced in very small numbers. Regardless of previous purchases, I think ADMs are going to be the norm.
If nothing else, I would confirm with your dealer that the configuration changes you have marked can actually be made. We have an allocation that is identical to the build sheet posted so it is possible that these are going to be preconfigured by the factory.

I'm soliciting opinions because I've never paid over sticker for a mercedes, this is a mercedes forum, right? The section about the AMG63 cars specifically, right?

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure our price would be much better, that's above my pay grade.

understood, thanks. See I don't mind if everyone else is paying over. I was just asking if it was just mine. Frankly speaking $15k over for this car is not horrible with what market rates are for things like the Range Rover, there is one for sale near me for $76k over sticker. I mean the E63S Wagon is a much better and rarer car. It's just incredible that dealers are doing this even the loyal customers now.

What irked me most is the "we have to make money too" and "we let you have the GLS63 for sticker 2 months ago"
