My steering wheel gets lukewarm and that’s being nice. All of my BMWs have had really great heated steering wheels. Have you guys noticed the same or is it possible the heater isn’t working correctly?

Does it get warm and then later get cold or it never really gets warm enough for you? Asking because MBUSA states: Heating elements beneath the Nappa leather trim of the steering wheel rapidly take the chill out of your hands on a cold morning. After a few minutes, the heating level is automatically reduced to maintain lasting comfort.

The steering wheels in both of mine not only heated up almost instantly, they got so hot I only kept them on for a short time.

It's the lawyers. Same with the seat heater, only stays hot momentarily. It all escalated after that lady collected big time, after spilling hot coffee on herself at McDonalds.

I've only used mine a couple times in the 20 months since delivery. It gets warm, but, certainly not overly so. It does not warm my hands quickly. Our GL450 is much more efficient for sure. I don't drive the E63s in Winter so it's not a big issue, but, I'd say it doesn't do a great job.

I've read how regular MBs tend to have better heaters overall compared to the AMGs, Could this be because of the leather vs MB Tex used? Fake leather can be charred with no ill effects, real leather might not fare so well

I just bought my 2019 and I think the heat is pretty much perfect. Not too hot, but also not barely noticeable. I’d call it spot on. It also does not eventually fade off, seems to stay on. I’m also coming from many other cars with heated wheels so it’s not like I’ve never had one. I suppose every car could be different, but as far as my 2019 goes it’s great
. Now my ventilated seats on the other hand….totally suck. Or I should say they are ok when they are actually functioning. I read that after a 7 minutes fans nearly turn off even tho the button on the door panel shows it still on level 3. They also say the fans turn off when you are stopped. I guess this is my first main complaint of my recently purchased E63. Every other car I’ve owned if you put the ventilated seats on, they stay on and at the level you put them until you shut them off. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It warms up but just not overly hot and then it basically turns off after a few minutes (well the light is still on but the wheel stops heating per the instructions). The seats, however, are crazy hot if you turn them on a second time in a row.

I’m just surprised how weak it is, I guess……

I’ll have them check it out next time I’m in but it sounds like it’s just normal.

This is pretty much what my E53 does. The wheel gets warm...ish. You can feel that it's warmer than not on at all, but certainly not very effective.
