Extended warranty help!
Hi all,
I have a 2020 E63s and the warranty is almost up (previous driver did a lot of highway KMS).
Extended warranty (extends manufacturers warranty) for 3 years , 2 of which is everything, and the last is powertrain only.
What issues did you have with your cars after 80kms? Likely drive up to about 110k in the next 3 years (its my 2nd car).
Do you recommend the extended warranty? its about $9k all in. TIA!

As a follow up to this, would love to hear input on common issues replaced under warranty.
just recently bought my S213, have 1 year of CPO, so would like to know what to look out for so I can have as much rectified/replaced before the warranty is up.
I also know this is pretty specific, but has anyone had any issues with the cooled seat feature on the sport bucket seats? My driver side doesn’t work 90% of the time and sometimes seems to get hotter when turned on. I scheduled an appointment for oil change and to have them check this out, so we’ll see what comes of it, but figured I’d ask.

I’d like to hear the pros and cons of the extended warranty too after the normal warranty expires. My time frame is up in May and we haven’t decided on a new one yet or keep this one and buy more warranty.

The W213 (2016+) is not as bad reliability wise as the W212 (2009-2015)... but they're still very expensive Mercedes... let alone AMG's... I wouldn't want to own one out of any warranty coverage. Here is some pricing information form our providers Fidelity and Freedom warranty, repairs from both providers are accepted at all Mercedes-Benz dealers and licensed independents in the USA. If you have any questions, or would like to see an example contract that explains coverage, you can reach me at tgibson@highline-autos.com or (855) 924-1333

The parts alone on the repair for our E53 was around $5,000 usd and expect about the same for labor that our factory extended warranty covered in full. One of our better automotive purchases.

I’m so torn on this matter right now. I bought my ‘19 E63S recently with 30k miles and factory warranty literally expired the day before I bought it. I knew this going into it, and had bought an extended warranty that this non-Mercedes dealership sold me. Turns out those a-holes sold me a warranty that does not work at Mercedes dealerships 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️. So I’m in the process of getting my $2500 back for that and I’m on the fence if I just put that towards an actual warranty that will work on my car. The thing is I don’t keep cars very long, but I’d like to try and hold onto this one. I’ve now out about 3,500 miles on the car and it seems solid, but still you never know.

Do any or all of these cover a leaking rear main seal and oil separators?

Same numbers as above, pricing would only increase/decrease if you were over 25K miles or under 10K miles. You can reach me directly at tgibson@highline-autos.com or (855) 924-1333

I want to thank, Trenton for the quick email responses to my inquiry and processing my warranty contract. After 7-weeks of searching, Highline Autos provided the best term options.

Hi Fellow Canadian,
I too was on the fence about the MB extended warranty. I owned a second owner E63S 2019 that I took over at 3 years from a sweet old lady from Montreal at 23,000km.
Had a lot of angst about getting the warranty for its price but after getting written in writing from the dealership that the RMS issue WOULD be covered (which I was most concerned about) I purchased it last August.
A great choice...
I will write a more detailed post once the paperwork closes on the issue, but in March 2024 at 37,000km, the car developed a sound while reving - took it in and had a "bearing issue".
Long story short, needed a new engine, hard to source - the quotes were between $61,000-$100,000 for the engine alone.
Finally got my car back after 4 months. The paperwork has not been closed yet so I don't have the final cost, but the sales manager told me the price to fix the car was exceeding $120,000 CAD!!
Just finished the "new engine" 1500km break in period again on a drive to Toronto today. Ready to use my car again.
So for my rare situation I can say, yes it was worth it.
Oh, the dealership did not give me a loaner for the 4.5 months it was sitting for repairs, and waiting for the engine etc, but during that time the breaks rusted out, so they got MB canada to approve a full new rotor / pad replacement x 4. That was a pretty fair exchange.
