I have a 2 week vacation/drive mid July and my wife is concerned about being stranded. ugh.
Advisor finally admitted this was a pretty common issue with E63s and then said they typically won't diagnose it properly unless the CEL comes on consistently for this issue. Pretty weak explanation. Car only has 15k miles on it, so seems early for an ignition coil failure. Extended warranty has paid for itself already and definitely not keeping the car once that runs out in 3 years.

Have a look at a Panamera GTS or Turbo, or Audi RS6.

My wife has a Lexus and service on that vehicle is a dream. They always have a loaner available, they fix it quickly, and no long waits for an appointment. On a prior Lexus they fixed the RMS (normally approx $7K) for free 6 months after the warranty had expired. If Lexus had a hipo wagon I would be running the configurator right now.
Sorry to hear about your troubles!

Anyways, for those who are experiencing this issue hopefully coil replacements fixes it and remains fixed.
