2019 E63 rough idle
My 2019 e63 has been having rough idle / strong intermittent vibrations for months. After several trips to the dealer so far they had replaced 2 coils, 1 fuel injector, transmission Mount. Car just does not feel right. Upon accessing track pace app, under telemetry my engine Rpm’s at full stop go from 650-690. Showed recording to dealer and they can’t seem
to figure out. The door shakes and you can feel
strong vibrations in the floor, steering wheel, and both front seats.
did anyone have these issues or can suggest what can be done.
car has 8678 miles it’s a weekend car, no tune, never tracked.
thank you!

did the dealer replace any spark plugs as well ? Although you car may not have high usage, maybe it is worth a try to replace the plugs and see. Another possibility is faulty fuel pump

Dealer has not replaced spark plugs. Would faulty fuel pump show up under diagnostics?

I’ve got a 21 wagon with 5200 miles. Sitting at a light and started to spit and sputter, like a total misfire. Engine light blinked, then remained on. Limped back home, turned it off and let it sit. Went back out, and same issue. Limped to the dealership and there it sits. Had hoped I would avoid this issue, but that’s life I guess. Little disappointing!!

After bringing my car in with a horrible misfire yesterday, I tried to contact dealership today, regarding a loaner vehicle. As, SA said they were really backed up and would be a while before they could even look at my car. Waited most of the day, so I called and was directed to a loaner car person. Voice Mail, left message and heard nothing. So, went over to dealership, and asked SA about this. This was all a surprise to him, didn’t get my text. Bla Bla Bla , no loaner cars, sorry about you buddy and goodbye. Top tier car line ???? Premium brand??? Not the case!!! It’s a crappy car that hides behind mythical aristocracy and fast lane advertising that pretends to be better than the others. Worst service I’ve ever experienced !!! Thank god we weren’t on a trip or something and we were stuck somewhere. When car gets collected, it’s going away and that’s the end of Mercedes for me.

2018 E63S Wagon, 2017 Z51 Corvette
My 2018 wagon started to vibrate badly, so bad in fact that taking off from a stop required me feathering the throttle. The vibration came with CEL. I took it to the dealer for service. Initially they said Cyl 5 coil was bad. They ended up replacing the coil and plugs to #1 & #5 cyls. They also replaced the fuel pump pressure sensor. This took a week for them to do. I live 15mins away from the dealer. Drove it almost the entire way home and go a "Do not drive over 50" error so I turned around in front of my home and drove it back to the dealer. I pull into the service line and am asked if I have an appointment. No, I just picked this up from service 1/2 hour ago and it has a "do not drive over 50 message". They usually have a 2 week wait on loaners. I drove out in a loaner.
I have a 2 week vacation/drive mid July and my wife is concerned about being stranded. ugh.

Same issue. CEL would come on intermittently with rough idle and vibration under acceleration several times over the span of a week. Made an appointment last week and dropped it off at the dealer telling them I thought it was an issue with spark plugs or ignition coil. After diagnostics, they tell me there's no record of any CEL and that the issue is because my battery isn't fully charged and that causes "gremlins in the engine". Tried to charge me $650 for a battery replacement and $300 for "diagnostics" even though I have extended warranty through MB. Argued with the SA and they finally caved and waived the diagnostic fee and I just trickle charged the battery to full after taking it back. Once charged to full, continued to have the CEL pop up and same rough idle symptoms so just drove there yesterday while it was occurring, refused to turn off the car until they hooked it up to XENTRY while the CEL was on, and they finally diagnosed it with a failed coil. Fully replaced everything for free under warranty with no diagnostic fee this time.
Advisor finally admitted this was a pretty common issue with E63s and then said they typically won't diagnose it properly unless the CEL comes on consistently for this issue. Pretty weak explanation. Car only has 15k miles on it, so seems early for an ignition coil failure. Extended warranty has paid for itself already and definitely not keeping the car once that runs out in 3 years.

taking my car back this week. driving it is unbearable vibrations felt in both front sets and steering wheel at dead stop. will try to have them check every coil and spark plugs, maybe agree to have it replaced since car has warranty and dealerships love to throw parts since its all about $$$ for them.

While my car was in the first time, SA said initially, it was a bad coil. Later, I texted and asked about replacing all the coils seemed to be common practice. Because when one failed, it said another would probably go bad too. SA said MB will only warranty the one coil that was bad. After all that, SA said it was a bad fuel injection module that was replaced and car was ready. Picked the car up and two days later, car spits and sputters and dies on me again. In traffic !! Limped back again, to dealership. This time SA says it needs a new fuel pump. Car has been sitting now for about a week waiting on parts. It’s been really disappointing. Average to poor reliability and a service dept. that probably has no idea how fix my issue. Thought I bought a keeper, but not the case. No confidence in the car or the brand !! I’ll be replacing the car ASAP. All this, on a 21 with 5300 miles.

Have a look at a Panamera GTS or Turbo, or Audi RS6.

Oh, and when I got mine back for the coils the media system no longer recognized my SD card.
My wife has a Lexus and service on that vehicle is a dream. They always have a loaner available, they fix it quickly, and no long waits for an appointment. On a prior Lexus they fixed the RMS (normally approx $7K) for free 6 months after the warranty had expired. If Lexus had a hipo wagon I would be running the configurator right now.

Speak of the devil. This happened to me today. Was sitting at a light and next thing I know the car developed a rough idle and started sputtering when I tried driving it and was clearly limping. I stopped the car the next stop sign, turned it on and off and the CEL went away and the car started driving fine. Made the 25 mile drive to work without any further issue but now I’m concerned that this will pop up again and this will be a potential headache. Mine is also a 2021 and the only real issue I’ve had with it is that one of the dynamic engine mounts needed to be replaced within 1000 miles of owning it (currently has 10k miles now in 2 years). I’ll have to be on the lookout for this now!
Sorry to hear about your troubles!

I got it back. No more CEL and it runs fine, though I haven't done a hard acceleration run yet. Only problem is the center of the DIC is stuck on "No Messages" and won't change. I'm trying to get my service advisor to talk to the service dept for the fix so I don't have to take it back in again.

Anyways, for those who are experiencing this issue hopefully coil replacements fixes it and remains fixed.
