The Life and Journey of a 2023 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon

It sounds GREAT! Starting and at idle just more throaty. Part throttle rocks. It's fantastic. Not obnoxious, just a nice deeper throaty sound. Especially pulling away from a stop part throttle. It's how it should be.
LOVE LOVE LOVE it. More then I thought. It's subtle which I like. If you want loud just get dowpipes. But for me this is the perfect balance. It turned the car slightly to the dark side, in a grown up way that's good.
Did I say it's awesome? Highly recommended.
Reasons I went with ASR:
Flaps stay open when I turn the car off. So on start they are already open which sounds great.
Flaps are 100% open all the time. With OBD flashers they merely only mimick pushing the Peformance Exhaust Button, which means they are still only opening 10%, 20%, 50%, whatever, until 4,000 rpm. ASR it's 100% everywhere
in all modes like comfort too. Sounds great in comfort just putzing around. Grrrrrrrrr. Grrrrrrrrr.
No OBD or programming or flashing or anything. I'm paranoid modifying any code voiding warranties.
The ASR brain plugs directly into the flaps using the existing flap wiring. Plug and play and easy to reverse.
I have the option of open or closed at my whim unlike coding it in the CPC which is always on.
The CETE module for flaps seemed confusing to use and got mixed reviews, and I was confused if it required flashing since you use a combination of the stock drive modes and buttons to open and close the flaps. Too complicated for me I just want them open.

Car sounds the bomb! I'm really digging the new wheels and new sound!!
I threw the remote on the phone charging pad for now. If I find a place to stick it with double sided tape somewhere I'll do that if it can be done nicely and OEM-y.

They will only ship in Europe, and only to the shipping address on file with the credit card. So I had to use PayPal to pay instead, and that allowed me to ship to a friends house in Germany. He then shipped it to me in Canada.
Install was 1.5h on the invoice. I know people will scream "it only took me 20 minutes" but whatever. I'm happy I didn't have to crawl around under the car zip tying wires and moving heat shields with road grime falling in my eyes.

Renntech blatantly lied and ripped me off in the past. So, yeah.
Because of my personal experience I just could not go back to them. Never will. I will literally do anything (or nothing) rather then use a Renntech part.

The sound sucks so bad it would not be fair to share. In real life I’m pushing the flaps open and closed and it is a change - on video, nothing. Seems not worth it on video. But IRL it totally is.
Just do it!
lol

This does not do it justice. It is way more noticeable in real life. Much more deepness flaps open then the iPhone can record.
Driving in the car I can now feel the exhaust subtly in the armrest and my back. It’s deep and good.
Don’t judge by this video it is severely lacking the deep bass change.

Also what does the "3" button do? I only get 1 and 2 for open 100% and closed, but it does save the last setting automatically.
For anyone curious, it is an identical install to the ASR. I did it myself on a hoist and it still took close to an hour I'd say. I would not want to attempt this job on the ground. By far the most annoying part was taking the connection/clip apart at the exhaust tips... probably 15 mins alone on this.

I read here a lot of success with Supreme Power and ordered the “Vic Special”:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...l-spacers.html
https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/815612-spacers.html
15mm front
12mm rear
60mm bolts
They work! No vibrations! Tested at <cough cough> many speeds. Very happy!
Oh and I found out a regular 17mm six sided socket works perfectly fine on the stock flower head bolts. No special socket required. (Thanks Mercedes for not including a toolkit)
Very nice hardware.
I tried to install the spacer on the hub first but not having a wheel hanging dowel (thanks Mercedes) I found it extremely difficult to line up the holes with the wheel, spacer, and hub.
So instead I slapped the spacer on the wheel lining up the holes. The spacer protrusion tolerance is so close to the wheel bore they press in and stay put even when rotating everything on the hub so it’s easy lining up the first wheel bolt. Nice!!
Ta-Da!

Agree it makes C and S a lot more fun. Doesn't really do anything for high RPM's in S+ and Race however it does seem to add a lot to lower RPM's in those modes.

I never run AMG Wagon in 4cyl mode...too many GM V8s had engine issues in late 90's early 2000's with that on demand feature. Just being Cautious.
Keep Posting! Living Vicariously thru the "Guy". Thanks!
P.S.
Y'all are lucky having so many Dealerships in close proximity for Service. After terrible service at ELP dealer that also services VWs in the same Shop, now take my Wagon 225-miles North to superior ABQ Dealership with a large AMG clientele and a separate Porsche Store on the property. They got the only GT3 RS allotment for the entire State when I was next door for second year service in June.
Also harbor freight has wheel hangers made by Pittsburgh.
2) Nothing done lol "This is normal, outer window trim/seals are press-fit, not bonded"
3) Nothing done lol " Normal fit for this model series. Normalize sunroof and sunshade, teach in obstruction sensor. Check gap at front of sunshade against other vehicles, normal for this model series."
4) "Adaptation of wet clutch and transmission. Perform short test, no related fault codes present. Check software release of all drivetrain modules, all software up to date. Unable to duplicate any abnormal function. Perform adaptation of transmission wet clutch. Road test vehicle and perform gearshift adaptation. Note to customer, this vehicle has a wet clutch rather than a torque converter in the transmission which can have a noticeably firmer/harsher engagement when pulling away, particularly when cold."
5) Done!
I gotta tell you I'm pretty disappointed with the trim and sun shade situation.

As for the oil the dealer didn’t sample it. Break-in oil is gone forever

To the bolded part....

I also plugged in the Cete Lowering Module just to see how it works and looks before taking off the spacers. It’s so easy!
Heres some pics @ -22mm in comfort mode before everything comes off. I sure hope the transmission gets solved sooner then later as I love the improved stance with the lowering and spacers. I can’t wait to put them on permanently.

I set the speed limit so it only lowers when below 50 kph. Hopefully no tire wear issues as it only lowers on a slow roll, parking, etc.
Super easy interface. There is a button for “Show Mode” to really slam it parked that is set separate from normal settings.
