Hey since the car is sitting waiting on parts - should I do a rear diff fluid change? It has 5,000kms / 3,000 miles on it. I know they no longer "require" it after break-in, is that just MB being cheap/lazy? I'm thinking of calling them and telling them to do the diff oil change and potentially contributing to a longer life.
Use to early GM limited diff service on 94 & 96 Z/28s, 2004 GTO, 2010 2SS/RS Camaro and 2015 & 2017 Chevy SS

Had the only 2010 Transformers Edition 2SS/RS C5 Camaro in West Texas and NM Region...manual transmission with rare grey leather interior. We met at the White Sands National Monument where scenes from the first two Transformers Movies were filmed at. Had about 20 C5 Camaros show up.
'94 and '96 Z/28s were built in Canada. The GTO, G8 GT, and Chevy SS Sedans were built in Australia.
I finally lost my GM-Hughes Employee Discount January 2019 after nearly 30-years on the Program. I think my 1996 Geo Prizm 5-stick is still running somewhere in Minnesota?

I had a 1994 1LE from new, took 6 months to come. That's when no one new about them yet, I had to sign a special thing to order it, I think 19 came to Canada out of 135 worldwide. Total stripper car no power seats no AC no fog lights, nothing. Light as heck. Did huge cam AFR heads with 2.05 valves, forged everything, splayed mains. Went to the F-body meets in Memphis and St. Louis from 97-2002.
The day I sold it:

I just got off the phone with my SA - they've had the new transmissions for a while and have been waiting on "other parts" they need. Those parts are arriving early next week! And, I am supposed to have my car back next Friday!
I told them to go ahead and change the rear diff fluid, and front diff change/service too if it's not already being swapped out with the tranny fluid. AMG tech is not in today so SA didn't know if it is already being done on the front by default from the repair.
He encouraged me to call the 1-800-387-0100 Mercedes number and complain for not having usage of the car for so long, said it has no impact on their dealer or service and it doesn't hurt to try.

Finally. Let's hope they deliver on that promise. Shouldn't they have at least updated you that they received most of the parts (but still waiting on the remaining ones)? I feel they should've at least reached out to you with that update instead of you having to chase them down for that though.

Everyone was correct the 1-800-387-0100 Mercedes number was useless. It's basically a stonewall of people to write down complaints and call your dealer to let them know what you've already been letting them know in person... big whoop.
They said the only financial recourse would be from the dealer that is servicing the car, at their discretion, if they wanted to help out with $$ on their end. They said it would be the dealer that has had the car and is waiting on parts. I asked a bunch of different ways and what I got from the phone lady was the selling dealer doesn't have to do anything for me, the servicing dealer can choose to give me a loaner, or compensate me $, for the time they've had the car, but they don't have to. It makes it even more difficult since I don't have a lease or anything. If it was leased they could decide to cover the payments on the lease since it's not really "my" car, and I'm losing use those months I'm paying for "due to them" taking long.
I really thought it would not be the dealers, I though it would be MBC that would be able to compensate me money for having a ****ty product. "We are not Germany, we are just the complaints dept, the dealers are independently owned, it is up to the dealer to give you money for keeping your car for so long".
So, anyone know the truth? I'm not hurting for money but it would be nice to get a few bucks since the $239k car has been sitting for two months waiting on parts. So really who is really responsible? The servicing dealer? It doesn't seem fair that I'd scream at them for getting me a new transmission when the selling dealer wouldn't, and asking them for more money just because Germany took long to send parts.
And, if I call the selling dealer they'll probably say "why didn't you bring it back here? Not our problem now, you should have come here" when I *did* bring it there first and they just told me it was normal.
Any solid direction would be great, on how this all works in Canada.

I can beat your 2 months with my 6+ easy lol. Driving ****ty loaners and keep getting back car they couldnt fix again and again... You can try to call camvap, they may give you some answers, just dont expect much as they are literally on the auto manufacturers payroll and mostly side em. Some provincial consumer rights institution may have some ideas too but looking at the whole picture of how unregulated this area is I believe lawyer and small courts are the way for us. The more court precedents we can create the sooner some real lemon law and real responsibility will materialize.
Amazing there’s “nothing”.

When you get a new transmission, do you have to be tormented by another break-in period? If so, how long? Just curious.

Yes Friday pickup,
Im just looking for a quick buck. If it’s going to take time and effort I can just make more money instead and be ahead. But if there’s two months worth of depreciation on the table I’ll pick it up.
No idea on break in - I’d think it needs to adapt fully that could take time.

Man I just read through this whole thread...you've got a great attitude putting up with this ****. I'm trying to decide if I should sell my '19 C63s sedan nd upgrade to new '23 E63s sedan (which I ordered in July '21 and which only just arrived at the dealer yesterday), and this is scaring the **** out of me!
