Exhaust just too quiet

Ownership of my wagon has been somewhat underwhelming. I guess I should have bought a pre FL. But short of installing valve modules and or other modifications. Am I missing something on finding the sweet spot of this exhaust? Seems really hard to get any pops or burbles out of the exhaust. Only if I sort of ring it out, will I get a minimal result, according to my ears. Has the car really been that neutered? Maybe, I just don’t drive the car hard enough. My F Pace SVR sounds so much better. It’s a great wagon, but I’ll probably move on and find something that I can hear. Not trying to be obnoxious, but there should be a bit more burbles and de cel note. And I can’t find it without modifications.

The snap crackle and pop doesn't really happen except for Sport+ and Race mode. At least I think it does it in Sport+ too, but it's been ages since I've used Sport+ so can't remember for sure.

If the car has the Sport exhaust system then the valves should open and allow more of the sound to escape, but if it doesn't I'd think you'd still get the pops but just quieter. Never really put the car into Race mode without the exhaust in Sport as well so kind of assuming this will be the case.

Pretty much I drive in Comfort mode until I get to an interesting piece of roadway or otherwise want more snap, then I flick it to Individual mode, which is configured as Race mode - saves me a couple toggles of the selector.

The other thing is that I have the noise reduction package on my car, so I don't really hear just how much it snarls until I roll down the windows and open the sun roof, then I'm reminded just how loud it can get. That said, it still isn't as loud as a co-workers F-Type R. That thing was outright nasty.

Noticeably quieter exhaust for me going from a 2018 to a 2023 63 sedan. It is incredibly underwhelming. I appreciate the updated infotainment and panamericana grill but everything else was better in the pre-facelift.

Yes I agree.
I had a 2019 and the exhaust was much louder in and out. I have a 2023, while you do get the pops, the exhaust has been neutered by I think the OPF and larger turbos; does the 2023 have OPF in US and Canada?

I also notice interior sound is muted compared to my 2019. I think some of the difference can be attributed to the fact that the 2019 was a 4.4L V8 and the 2023 is 4.0 V8.
You can really hear the Turbo waste gate “wooshes” from inside the car of the 2023 compared to the 2019…I’m also suspecting that the Turbos in the 2023 are also muting the exhaust sound compared to the 2019….really the 2019 with the large displacement was a more “naturally aspirated” engine if you will than the 4.0 V8, thus the sound change. Old V8 had more NA grunt.

Just a shame. My neighbor rolled by, in his new targa, nothing fast, just rolled up to the gate. Such a nice bit of pops and burbles, not crazy, but sounded really nice. And I’m not a Porsche guy at all, but it sure sounded so nice. About the only little bit I can squeeze out of my wagon, is emotion start and that is about it. I’ll probably move on. Otherwise, great car.

ok forget everything I said then except for the fact that ‘23 exhaust note inside and out is much more muted than ‘19. Must be OPF; if installed on US/CAN cars.

I hate pops and burbles - even the stock ones. I hate letting off after hosing civilians the car screams “HERE! RIGHT HERE! HERE’S THE IDIOT! popopop. Cat-less downpipe pops to me are even worse. POP! POP! POP! POP! Not cool at all. When I eventually get a tune I’m requesting them all removed.

The extra oomph on an up shift - different story. That thump sounds good.

Deep rumbling is nice. There is no OPF in the US 2021 cars and beyond.

I’m not interested in rattling windows. Plenty of those idiots out there. But a nice decel boulevard burble would be nice. Just enough for my ears would be nice. Might help to drown out the squeaky *** brakes. Just nonexistent on this car, I’m just not in an area where I can wring it out and sound like a maniac, just to get a little something out of the exhaust. And the wagon’s value just isn’t quite enough, not to take a haircut to get out of it. So, ultimately, it’s just a ok wagon with V8. No big deal.

Get an EVM it transformed my car in an adult grown up way. Sounds just a bit better then stock, I love it. Changed day to day to be fun.

Or get a CPC with the valves coded always open.

What’s a few more bucks to really enjoy life?
