AMG V8 Is Dead & Gone From C63 and E63

Well.. that sucks. I would love a V8 W206 C63 to add to the garage because thats a great looking car.
Never happening with that lame 4 cylinder.

I don't claim to know or understand the regulations and business decisions that got them to this point, but for me,it is a deal killer. Seems BMW is doubling down on a V8 in their competitive model for the E63s. There is no way I would go from my V8 E63s to one of these new hybrid models. They may spit out more overall HP, but have no appeal to me whatsoever. When I bought my 2021 I had hoped they would offer something better down the line with a V8 and more HP. Obviously, that won't happen so the 2021 will be in the garage for a long time.

Maybe, just maybe, people are complaining about the new downsized motors not because they aren’t powerful enough, but maybe because the V8 imbues the car with a character that its contemporaries can’t match with their inline sixes or overblown four cylinders. Just a thought.

Well, like another forum member mentioned, the V8 brings emotions, you don't really need to drive fast to enjoy the engine, downshift and all generates many smiles each mile. Just my opinion though.

I use every pony, relish every pop and bang, and head to the track occasionally. For most a "fine engine with more than enough power for spirited driving" is just fine but I'm definitely in the hardcore camp.

2023 E63S Wagon
Today in the 212 there were no cars so I stopped beside a mile long concrete sound wall on the empty service road. Rolled down all windows opened the sun roof and floored it through the gears - stage 2 damn the echo sounded great!
Later on the Mexican freeway the shift around 220-240 that a normal car is losing steam the E63 just blaps, growls, digs in slaps your back and pulls even harder.
I couldn’t imagine not using all of it. If my girl wants to go, I go!
