Cause of Transmission Running Hot?

2018 e63 wagon w 88k miles. Trans temp creeps upwards a few degrees every five minutes or so from the optimal 200 degree F range to 240-250 degree F level. A bit faster rise in temp around town vs. highway. Trans service just done, but no improvement.

Car rolls from a stop and at very low speeds a little stiffly/jerky and maybe is a little noisy like a rumble from under the front of the car, but thought it might be tire noise. Could it be a worn front differential causing stress on trans? It seems to shift smoothly with no clunks, hesitations or slips, but temp is definitely too high. Any thoughts I can relay to my indy mechanic tomorrow?

Coolant, intercooler, radiator, bleed/burp the air out of all your coolant circuits (especially transmission) and top them off.

It does not have aftermarket radiator protectors installed in the bumper openings, just the thin plastic grid covers directly on the metal coolant fins. I recently cleaned all the debris from those.

There is a coolant circulation pump that has probably gone bad. There was another report a while back from another poster.

I thought there was a recall to add protection to them. I'll let others chime in about that.

Appears coolant pump may be the culprit. Any ideas on work involved and costs to replace? No quote yet on fix from shop.

Drain coolant, r/r pump, refill coolant, bleed systems. You're looking at 2 hours labor, pump, fluid. $450.

Got the quote back today. Apparently there are 4 trans cooler pumps on these cars?! Plan is to replace the 2 on the driver's side since no leaks and both get power but one pump has failed and other is "weak". Then hope there are no obstructions or valve issues in the system. $1,600 = $325 per pump and 5 hours labor plus 1 for diagnostics.
