Extended Warranty Options ? W213 E63S
Hello all,
I have a 2019 E63S with 36k miles and may factory warranty is expiring in January 2024.
I was looking for some input on extended warranty options.
Has anyone had any experience with both the extended Mercedes warranty and/or an external extended warranty company? If so, who and are they any good?
Thank you.

I bought my mercedes extended warranty from an out of state dealer. I saved sales tax and they gave me a significant discount! The girl I bought it from, Cassandra, left the dealership but there are other dealers discounting the factory mercedes warranty. Hope this helps.

I bought a Fidelity Platinum warranty through Steingold Volvo who have a larger presence on Rennlist but also AMG forums as well. They now seem to have an easy to use online website for generating quotes and ordering: https://factoryprotect.ratessys.com

this may be a redundant question but is it possible to buy an aftermarket extended warranty right before my Mercedes Benz extended warranty expires which will happen in a couple thousand miles?

On my W212 the extended factory warranty replaced the entire engine with a new one. In Canada the warranty extended to 7yrs 160,000 kms and at 159,000 I had a bunch of stuff replaced to freshen the car. They just said OK and did it all in warranty. Propeller shaft was whining a bit, couple wheel bearings, some other stuff.
Factory extended was well worth it and I took it again on the W213.

I'd like to know this as well... if you can... is there any benefit to buying it earlier in the life cycle versus at the very end before factory warranty expires?

Every warranty company will have it's own rules. My aftermarket warranty company required an inspection before approval whether the car was still in factory warranty or not. The dealer did the inspection and filled out the form signing off that the car was in good condition. The dealer said they do these inspections all the time. It was $450.

Typically extended warranties are more expensive the older/more miles the car is, so if you buy it right before warranty expires it’ll be more expensive than if you buy it day 5000 miles in.
Also typically they have a grace period where you can get a full refund, usually 30-60 days. After that it’s a pro-rated refund.
You also have to read the fine print and what’s covered. I’ve found that these companies are good at excluding things which is annoying.

I generally keep my cars for a while, so I always buy the MB extended warranty when I buy the car new. I find you can get a decent deal on the few extras I'm interested in, like prepaid service, extended warranty and wheel protection (road rash is my wife's specialty). There are always weird discounts on a package like that. When I got the E63 in Jan '19, after bargaining the price down, they dropped another $1,000 because of my Costco membership. Weird, but I wasn't arguing.
The MB extended warranty has always been trouble free. They just did the RMS/oil separator replacement, a $10k+ project, with no questions asked.

Decided not to purchase the prepaid maintenance. Called dealer service department and they said Service A was around $400 and Service B around $850. Said it didn't matter if I had a C class or a G63. So that's nice that the price is the same. So 2 A's and two B's only come out to $2,500 vs. the $3,200 for the prepaid maintenance. G63 AMG service items are not covered in the prepaid maintenance and have to be paid for separately where as other AMG models, it is covered. This would have made it a better deal. So for G wagons, prepaid maintenance doesn't make sense.
