Looking to buy, quick question
1) is 70k too many miles for these engines?
2) what AMG packages on these are a must have as I’m shopping around?
any help is greatly appreciated.

Would agree the adaptive cruise is a must have if you live in a high traffic area...just makes the commute so much easier when you hit stop and go traffic.
Other than that...I'd throw in upgraded turbos, downpipes, fuel pumps and a tune as must have's lol...

I like carbon brakes
I didn't think I would but I love all the interior and exterior carbon treatments

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Usually miles means it's a good car, or, if it wasn't a good car by now everything that was going to break has - and is fixed.

Current mileage for my E63s is 134k (this pic is about 3 weeks old).
Ccb rotors are still OEM with no sign of wear except rear right which shows wear but not at the limit. Pads were just replaced in august.
133,275 miles

Just got to stick with service intervals religously and if things start to not feel right, getting tgem addressed.
For the ccb pads, when i replaced them, they were at 5.7mm out of 11mm. I did not like hearing the grinding noise so i replaced them using OEM pads.
Also had a dead gps antenna, cracked driver side 360 camera.
The history shows mb visits for all service. Talking with prev owner, lots of highway mileage but also city driving. the motor still pulls hard on WOT.
In my opinion, the reason this car has not given many issues was because it was infact driven. The car was a lemon law/buy back in 18 but safe to say, that is not an issue.
absolutely love the car. Following are must haves for me.
Most important feature for my wife is the comfort seat with massage (I also enjoy it a lot, especially on a trip.)
I also really like the Adaptive cruise control, HUD, and performance exhaust ( was optional in these years)
My 2 cents:
Option's are all so personal, and everyones personal preferences are different, so you're going to hear "must haves" all over the map and even opposites.
For 1 person sport seats may be a must have(which i've heard multiple times), while another needs the comfort with massage seats...
for me the fact that you can have those sport seats, that look so good and are extremely comfortable AND have the option of coming with heated and a/c is amazing. I love mine, although when looking for mine, those massage seats didn't sound horrible...
I also don't understand why so many people are scared of miles. As others have stated high miles either means it was a great car or any issue's have been fixed. Only !00% necessity for me is getting a PPI. it saved me from buying a 2018 E63S which would've had multiple things needed within 1-2 months of owning, and probably lots of continued issues. The shop stated, "not sure what happened to this car. Looks like maybe it was stolen and jumped over curbs..."
Anyway.., I ended up with a high mileage car (73k when bought it) and have had it almost exactly a year now and love it! CPO just ended so, soon to explore the ECU, TCU, CPC tuning package and let the car really breathe!!
