The W213 E63s AMG carbon ceramic brake system – What makes it worth it?
For high-performance sports cars, spending a few thousand dollars on vehicle upgrades is nothing out of the ordinary. But what if you had to shell out that much money for just one component upgrade? Is it really worth it? Today, we're diving into the value of the Mercedes-Benz genuine AMG Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit – a composite ceramic brake system that commands a hefty price tag.
To understand the value of the AMG Carbon Ceramic Brake System, let's first take a look at its features. Take, for example, the setup designed for the Mercedes-AMG E63s (W213) from my photos (yes, it's an installation I did at my location, for one of my customers). This complete package includes matte gold high-performance brake calipers with front 6-piston and rear 1-piston, reinforced carbon ceramic brake discs measuring 402mm at the front and 360mm at the rear. It also comes with genuine carbon ceramic brake pads, brake lines, sensor wires, and all the other bits and pieces required. The most unique and expensive part of this system is the composite ceramic brake discs, commonly known as "carbon discs."
Composite ceramic brake discs are high-tech marvels. The reinforced disc body not only exhibits extreme wear resistance but can also withstand temperatures of around 1830°C, making them capable of handling any extreme braking conditions. However, the high price of the carbon ceramic brake system is not solely due to its powerful braking performance. It's the ultimate lightweight construction that sets it apart. Carbon ceramic brake discs are primarily made from materials like carbon fiber and silicon carbide, resulting in a weight reduction of nearly 60% compared to conventional cast iron brake discs. For every 1 kg reduction in weight, the actual driving experience benefits from approximately 10 kg less load on the vehicle. This translates into significant performance improvements and sharper handling responses during acceleration, cornering, and maneuvering. It's an upgrade component that delivers ultimate performance.
That's why for some it's pricey but worth every penny. This genuine gold nugget is not just about exceptional braking performance; it's about achieving the pinnacle of lightweight design. So, if you're looking for an upgrade that elevates your driving experience to new heights, this is one component that won't disappoint.

Have you driven Iron vs CCB back to back? When upgrading my S212 from Iron to CCB after the first drive I decided never Iron again on a cool new car if CCB is an option.
But yeah based purely on weight it is a silly choice. Some of the fastest E63 are on Irons.
Want vs need! The whole car is ridiculous.

The idea came from my website designer. It's just a placeholder for something that will make more sense in the future. At the moment online ordering from the website is not available, because I still want people to talk to me on Whatsapp to confirm the car model before sending the parts over.

W213 E63 uses fixed front calipers and floating rear calipers (regardless of steel or ceramic rotors)
edit: nvm it seem they list front calipers twice
AMG-line is for name for cosmetic appearance packages on non-AMG models like E300, E450, etc.
