Replacement PowerStop Z23 Rotors and Pads - E43
I ordered the complete PowerStop Z23 rotors and pads replacement kit from Summit Racing for $667.98
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pwr-k8106
and the parts look pretty yummy:
Since my current OEM rotors look like Ruffles potato chips, this is definitely well needed and past due.
I ordinarily do most of the maintenance and work on my cars myself and I have the knowledge and tools but I'm starting to realize my age is starting to get in the way of my capabilities (lol). And it's so freaking hot now in south Florida it's hard to find the motivation to voluntarily go sweat my nuggets off, so I'm bringing it to my indy shop later this week and they're going to swap everything out.
I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to brown wheels, and better looking zinc plated rotors doesn't hurt either.
I'll post an update after installation.

My OEMs are so bad that I can leave my garage with a clean car and after a couple of hours of cruising, brown front wheels. Maybe they should just ship these cars with all brown wheels to begin with, lol.

So interesting to see your Powerstop drilled slotted rotors and Z23 pads. I have not replaced my E63 brakes as yet but I just got the exact same product as you for my non Mercedes convertible. I had my old rotors and pads swapped out about 3 weeks back with this new Powerstop stuff. I am pretty happy - moderate to minimal brake dust and good progressive pedal feel. Of all my 3 MBs, only the E63 has brake dust issues because I went aftermarket with pads and rotors for my other two MBs. Most decent after market brands do much better with brake dust vs MB OEM pads. There is a reason my E63 came with black wheels from the factory I suppose - it may be MB's solution to prevent people from going, "Ugh !" when their silver wheels look brown.

I have the black multispokes with silver accents:
But they still turn brown quickly. It probably wouldn't bother me as much if they turned brown equally from front to back, but the rears usually look fine and the fronts look like sacks of nutmeg have blown up in there, lol.

The new PowerStop rotors and pads are installed. Only took the shop a little over 2 hours to complete. Quicker than it would've taken me to do it, for sure.
The brakes are definitely MUCH better than what I had, but what I had were worn out and crappy so it's hard for me to compare to new OEM.
Even after the bedding process, which I did hard, I don't notice any more dust than was already there. I'll know for sure after living with them for a week or so.
I'm very satisfied with my choice. When stomped on, they bite hard. And I think they look great too. Now I wish I had more open wheels so they could be seen better!

I just changed our Expeditions brakes...there was billowing smoke after my last hard stop. Had a moment where I sped up thinking about putting a fire out...
Probably a bit much I'm thinking.

But I'm going to take it back out later tonight when there are less people getting in my way and do it on the highway cycling from 50/60 to 10/5 to the point where I'm getting some smoke then I should be good.

I'm on my second set of pads with powerstop. One thing on my e63 is that the pads are clunky on initial bite either in D or R. The zero dust is what keeps me coming back to these even though its annoying, its only for the first pedal press. Do you get these noise on yours?

The next time I go somewhere I'll specifically pay attention to that and report back.

this is because there is sometimes a little bit of play in the installation of the brake pad. You can install shims and that will totally take care of the issue. I have this occasionally on my E63 and my Acura. It's a pretty common issue and it's not a concern at all. just get some shims installed

who installed them? If you installed them - contact the vendor that sold them to you and ask for specific shims for your pads and they'll link you to the correct product and indication - brake pad clicking/shifting due to excessive play
