CETE Lowering Module Install W213 AMG E63S

I had a shop install the E63S CETE Lowering Module because I could not find good clear instructions. A year later and @graphitegreyamg posted some instructions here https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...ml#post8989804 which I attached as a PDF to this post in case that link dies. Unfortunately I still felt a bit confused - until I tackled this myself. It is easy so I thought I'd do a quick write up of the physical install.

The techy part is in the attached PDF and please read through it! There are important timing considerations of WHEN to plug in the CETE module for the first time - Car Running and Suspension already settled and zeroe'd - read the PDF!!

So here it goes.

First off when purchasing the E63 CETE Lowering Module 100% get the add-on option of the "plug and play" harness. Otherwise you will be cutting and splicing the factory loom. The harness makes it so easy.

The module already plugged into the "Plug and Play" harness that is the purple and clear bundle with the small offshoot of wires for the Module to plug.

This is the spot I could use my fingers (no tools required) to pull the plastic trim up and it is easily removed pulling up and working towards the front of the car.

Pull the carpet back enough to see the stock Mercedes computer module thingy and pull it up a bit. The harness will route under a soft rubber/plastic thing you will need to pop open to pull the harness out.

There are two spots the rubber/plastic cover is popped apart with a flat screwdriver.

Once the plastic cover thing is pulled out of the way you can see the harness and stock module at the front of the car clearly. Undo the pink connector going into the front Mercedes module by sliding/rotating/moving the black part of the connector slowly and it will all work itself apart.

Once the harness and stock module is pulled out and apart you can plug the stock pink harness connector to the clear "Plug and Play" harness, and the new "Plug and Play" pink connector plugs into the stock Mercedes module.

Stuff the stock module back in front, and then run the "Plug and Play" harness inside that plastic cover thing you peeled back with the screw driver - then push the cover down over the wire mess to hide it all nicely. Tuck the CETE module in here towards the rear of the car, there is room for it to drop right in.

All together and nothing butchered! A comment on putting the carpet back - there is one square/rectangle hole in the carpet that kind of hooks into the metal door jam - do this before you press the trim back on. It is towards the rear of the car a bit - hook that carpet piece in there first to keep the carpet folded down nice and close to the door sill and then just put the trim on the front first and press it on. Look at the passenger side if you forget exactly which parts of the trim go in the groove etc.

yeah lol I just joined today. I’m not sure why it’s not letting me message unfortunately.
but I spent a shameful 2 hours on this because it was the first time dealing with this
I got the system hooked up a working, and I read all about zeroing the suspension in your other posts.
the issue I have is the 2 harness connectors; I do not know where the stock pink connector is supposed to go. There seems to be zero space. It doesn’t fit under the cover with the wires, it doesn’t seem to fit over the cover right under the carpet. Taking the plastic cover off was a hassle enough

this is my current setup
i left the carpet rolled back because I couldn’t get both connectors to fit inside that crammed area.

I am also now dealing with the suspension malfunction code too LOL

Finally had 5 mins!

Heres my setup.

Stock harness unplugged from stock module and routed towards rear of the car behind that rectangle cover thing, so the stock harness is now to the rear of that cover. Cete harness extends from the now rearward stock harness forwards under that rectangle cover thing to go back to the front of the car into the stock module. The cete module and stock harness is all jammed half under that rectangle plastic cover thing and sticks out of it towards the rear of the car.

As for suspension errors I find turning car off and taking all key fobs far away for 5-10 minutes the car resets itself and is Ok. Errors mostly happen if making adjustments while driving or using the “return to stock ride” setting at a speed there is frequently too much suspension travel happening.
