Is this a rod knock?

Same with the 213 transmission it was a “reman” also.
Not sure if they ever do brand new for warranty.
Why do I keep buying these things?!?!

Even the 25 bmw m5 wagon is a no go for me as the weight is beyond ridiculous (5600 lbs easily).
That clunk sound is very inconsistent
Is the car already back or can you rev it slowly to see what happens to the "clunk"?
Occasionally when I'm in a drive through window I hear something similar on my car. Sometimes I think it's the front CV problem that causes rough idle. Other times I think I'm imagining things. I'll have a listen later today

Based on sound nothing to worry about! Unless my car is about to explode too lol. When I listened to your recording I remembered hearing the same sounds before, echoing off a wall in a drive through line with the window down.
Have a listen to mine - same low pop noises that are kinda too low pitch for a misfire kinda too high and too random for rods pistons etc. and too inconsistent for valve train. <shrug> Inspect it, buy it and drive the wheels off it! If still worried buy a warranty.
Anyone else have the same?

I put on an average of 500km/week, mostly weekends going fun places. The work “commute” is less then 100km/week. So total is around 25,000km/year. Which is why I bought the 6 year warranty and not 7. I’ll be out of km’s in year 6.
Carpe diem, indeed. Well done.
