Stage 2 tuning general questions/information

Hi all. Thinking of doing eurocharged stage 2 & cpc. I have renntech highflow downpipes & 32k miles on my e63 and was just wondering if anyone had any experience with these tunes, and if I need to do anything such as colder plugs, etc. much appreciated.

Also had a rep tell me to go stage 1 instead as stage 2 is more dangerous to components.

I have experience with Eurocharged and ECC Tuned.

I’d only trust https://www.ecctuned.com/ with my car.

Slav and his guys are the experts on this platform.

PS
Stage 1 is typically all tune, no mods.
Stage 2 is typically Stage 1 plus downpipes and Cold Air with the tune to compliment.
Stage 3 is typically stage 2 with fuel pumps and larger turbos and tune to compliment.

Stage 1 and 2 cars run stock plugs.

Oh and no tune should be dangerous! Choose your tuner wisely.

Thanks mate! I'm thinking of going stage 1 for now with CPC. I could always go stage 2 further down the road if I'm looking to get more power. If the difference between stage 1 & 2 is very small, I'm fine with stage 1 for the time being.

Stage 2 only adds 10-30HP depending on who you ask. The cost of downpipes, the stink and legality of no catalytic convertors, may or may not be worth the little bit of HP to you. They do sound awesome though!

Stage 1 is easy. Most places can even mail you a flasher to do yourself.

Have fun!!

Had my first California smog test this month in advance of renewing my registration. The smog guy told me he is starting to get guys coming in with no cats and he can't pass them. The cars pre-smog tested OK, but fail the visual inspection.

One of the people had purchased the car for a pretty low price but found out why when they went to get it smogged. Now need to spend $$ on new cats if they want to get it licensed.

Watch the ECC videos. I am not tuned by them, but I agree 100% with their reasons.

This is a really dumbed down explanation. You need a ECU, CPC (that is a must), and need a TCU tune. The ECU speaks for itself in regards to tune. The CPC has limiters and safeties and those need to be adjusted to fully extract the increased power. The TCU tune needs to be included. That allows the tuner to increase line pressure on the clutches which allows the transmission to hold the extra power.

Stock my car made 607 hp and 652 tq to the tire IIRC. With the mods in my sig basically a stage 2.5 tune (minus turbo upgrade) ...it made 746 hp and 931 tq to the tire. I actually asked for the car to be turned down. As it sits, it makes 741 hp and 881 tq to the tire.

You can literally go mild to wild if you want.

CA now checks the ECU and if the vehicle has been tuned and there is no CARB EO sticker - FAIL!

Eurocharged is the only company I would use. Completely safe and reliable.

I'm new to the forum and looking to do a tune that does not require me to take out my ECU and ship it. Is there a TUNE you all recommend that has been solid and proven over the years for a 2021 E53AMG? Looking for a Stage 1 for now that can be done via OBD.
