Stage 2 tuning general questions/information

Also had a rep tell me to go stage 1 instead as stage 2 is more dangerous to components.

I’d only trust https://www.ecctuned.com/ with my car.
Slav and his guys are the experts on this platform.
Stage 1 is typically all tune, no mods.
Stage 2 is typically Stage 1 plus downpipes and Cold Air with the tune to compliment.
Stage 3 is typically stage 2 with fuel pumps and larger turbos and tune to compliment.
Stage 1 and 2 cars run stock plugs.

Stage 1 is easy. Most places can even mail you a flasher to do yourself.
Have fun!!
One of the people had purchased the car for a pretty low price but found out why when they went to get it smogged. Now need to spend $$ on new cats if they want to get it licensed.

This is a really dumbed down explanation. You need a ECU, CPC (that is a must), and need a TCU tune. The ECU speaks for itself in regards to tune. The CPC has limiters and safeties and those need to be adjusted to fully extract the increased power. The TCU tune needs to be included. That allows the tuner to increase line pressure on the clutches which allows the transmission to hold the extra power.
Stock my car made 607 hp and 652 tq to the tire IIRC. With the mods in my sig basically a stage 2.5 tune (minus turbo upgrade) ...it made 746 hp and 931 tq to the tire. I actually asked for the car to be turned down. As it sits, it makes 741 hp and 881 tq to the tire.
You can literally go mild to wild if you want.
