Trying to source some feedback from you guys who own Mercedes.
I am in the middle of purchasing a 2023 E53 Convertible with 12,000 km (approximate 7500 miles) (pictures below)
Two Questions:
Original factory warranty expires July 2027, Should i pay to get additional factory warranty for an additional warranty?
Should I pay for PPF (Paint protection Film) to protect the front end?
E63 S AMG, CLS550 4matic, C63 Ed 507, Volvo XC90 T8s
what are you being quoted for front end PPF ? Is it just a section of the hood and bumper or the whole hood and front fenders with bumper ? What kind of PPF film ( brand ) is being used here ? I like PPF but obviously pricing has to be fair.

$1899 in Canada so plus tax. Total $2145
I beehive he said Luminar film. Full front end all the way to mirror. Bumper, front end, hood, front fenders including mirror caps, door handles and rear trunk sil.

Don't know Luminar but assuming it is equivalent to Expel or Suntek, the kinds of prices I get quoted for similar work by a high quality installer is perhaps 10 to 20% higher even after taking account of the CAD USD conversion. So you might be quite alright

To answer the question of the extended warranty, every Mercedes needs a warranty for piece of mind and to protect the owner from 4 and 5 digit repair costs. If they are offering a CPO extended warranty or a Mercedes ELB warranty then yes it is worth it. If you sell the car in the future you can always cash in the remaining value of that warranty.

I should have been more specific in my post. The car is coming with CPO warranty for 2 years but that's mostly powertrain and not a lot of other stuff that's not included in the factory warranty to upgrade the CPO warranty to a full factory. Warranty is about $3,000 Canadian plus taxes
All of my seven AMG's plus two SL600's came with the factory 4 year warranty and I paid to add on the three year factory extended warranty. Looking at these nine cars, I paid less for the three year extended coverage than I saved in repairs. However, that was due to the 2005 SL600 and 2006 S65. As you likely know, this generation went through coil packs, motor mounts, and ABC hoses and accumulators. Excluding those two older cars, I have paid more for the three year extended coverage of the seven newer cars than the warranty repairs cost. Despite that, I will still take the three year factory extended warranty on any new AMG's I purchase.

FWIW In Canada the ELW or any portion of it is non refundable:
NO REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE:The Purchase Price for the ELW shall be deemed to be earned in its entirety by MBC immediately upon receipt.In the event the ELW is terminated or cancelled prior to the scheduled expiration date for any reason including without limitation theft or destruction of the Vehicle,no refund will be paid to you or any lienholder or lessor.

You will be ahead buying the ELW for $3k.
That sounds like a good deal.
Mine for 2 more years and 160,000 was $5,899 at the time I bought the car new when I added it on. Even at that price I still think it is worth it.

I think i might even do the extra year on top of the two...so two years at factory warranty will bring me to July 2029...and one extra year of just powertrain is an extra $500 on top on the two years.
So $3300 for the two years of factory warranty and $3800 for a third year but only powertrain.
