Obviously it’s a short term solution to my long term problem.
Most interested in downside of slap.
Cheers!

I have pad slapped without any issues. Im a firm believer that you don't need to replace rotors every time you change pads. You should easily get 50-75k miles on a set of rotors.

Powerstop for sure. 36000 miles on the rotors and still going strong. Practically dust free

Thanks for everyones responses.

I bought my car 10 months ago and put on about 3K miles. The pads were changed out during the CPO process but they did not change the rotors. They have groves and a lip (car has 30K miles) but if it was good enough for CPO to slap pads on then its good enough for me. I too believe you can get multiple sets of pads per rotor.

Do you have to change the wear sensors or if they haven't gone off yet are the sensors still OK?

Also, did you guys use the Powerstop wear sensors or MB? I ordered the Powerstop pads and wear sensors from RockAuto.

Pad wear sensor is a pad wear sensor. They are all the same, designed to trip a light when the rotor grounds out the lead in the sensor, nothing special about them. I just buy the cheapest brand name ones they have on Rock Auto.

I change the sensors if they've been ground/worn by the rotor. Otherwise re-use the old one.
