Tire Sizes for 20 x 10.5 rear on CLS55
I have a 2006 CLS55 AMG and was wondering if a 295/30/20 rear tire on a 20 x 10.5 wheel will work?? I talked to discount tire and they said that the 295/30 tire would not work but a 285/30 tire will.
Any thoughts/opinions is much appreciated

you will be fine with a 295x30x20 on a 10.5 wheel...
TireRack uses this width (wheel wise) when listing its specs on that size tire.
If you ran an 11 it would be slightly stretched (just saw my buddy run a 295 on an 11) and on a 10 it would create a slight bulge as Rabbi said.
Now in regards to the CLS application- are you lowered?

Vic55, my car is stock as far as suspension, but i do roll around in SportII mode unless im taking a road trip and then ill set the suspension to comfort mode. I looked under at the rear tonite and it looks like it should clear. I currently have the stock 19 x 9.5 with 285/30 on the rear.

I am running a 305/25/20 on my 10.5" rear...I can slam the back -1.8" inches with no rubbing (this is my normal setting), even with the 305. IMO - it does not look chunky, it looks perfect on the 10.5" wheel.

I run a 305 on a 10.5" wheel and the fitment is perfect. It all depends on the tire brand. Some tires have a wider section width as compared to others.

The V12's are nice tires they are controllable, have grip and a good tread profile for the CLS. Most likely people trashing them have not used them. Tires are limited in 20's. BTW I could prolly fit a 315 on my CLS.
