I think they really charged you too much for such simple services. When we get MBZ parts at wholesale, these brake pads should cost around $60/pair for genuine MBZ parts or $45/pair for non-OEM parts. And these MBZ OEM brake rotors also are not very expensive at all. Please don't quote me on these but they can't be much more than that.
For your info, as a general statement, MBZ parts usually cost way less than Lexus, BMW, Acura, even certain Toyota parts. So do those things yourself and save mucho $$$$. (Assuming you could get parts at wholesale.
As for me, I find it odd that owning a 97 E420 costs less than my 95 Nissan 300ZX. Take care.

Say what? What did they do? Even all four rotors and pads replaced and brake fluid changed shouldn't be that much, even from MB. Did the pad wear light come on? How many miles on your ML320? What parts did they replace?
56,000 miles on the car.
Dealer changed:
all 4 brake pads and rotors.
-they said something about the brake pads and rotors being worn down to a dangerous level? I'm not sure what that really so fearing that the car was going to be dangerous to drive, i just had do whatever they needed to do.
The brake pad light came on and we continually drove it for a month or so. But anyways, those are details.

one time i thought maintenance was free because i bought the extended warranty and then when they handed the car back to me the guy says..."That'll be $550 dollars". I'm like..."Erhuhhh?!"

I recently had the "Brake Fluid Low - Visit Workshop!" indicator come on on my CLK. They said that my fluid was low and that all four brake pads were worn down, however they only charged me $400 with labor.
