Pilot m/s vs Zero Nero m/s

225/45/17 - Which ones are better? (wearability, handling, snow traction etc). Any real world experience would be great, I've searched however only found articles from earlier this year. The Pirelli's are $125 vs Michelin's $175, clearly a better price. In addition, which has a wider tread width?

I have the pilot sports, they're good, except for tread life. I had one pair last about 20k miles (the back two tires) and I had the front two tires last 30k miles, albeit with significant wear.

I don't know anything about the pierrlis. I've driven on the continentals, and they're really quiet and decently smooth.

I have a c230 w/ Continental ContiSportContact 2 , nice tires, but after 32,000 miles I need new ones,
Looking to get All season this time around, can't decided between the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S,and the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S myself,
Which has a wider tread width? They should be the same.

I would get the Continental ContiExtremeContact, but they don't seem to make them in the 245.40 17 size.
Any advise about these tires or other All Seasons would be helpful.
Thanks Jkw

Do a "search" to get the previous posts on this "chronic" question/comparison. Everyone (including me) seems to have their opinion and suggestions.

As mentioned in the other posts, I have really enjoyed my Pirelli P-Zero's from all angles, including the value/cost. Check out the Tire Rack comparison chart and you'll see what I am referring to. Good luck !

pzero is good but if you live in the metro area they arent good, you will bubble those tires easily very thin sidewall. Great performance tho.

I have the P Zero M/S. The car simply feels married to the road. I have not tried the Pilot M/S. I'm sure you can't go wrong with them. But for performance and price? P Zero M/S. Check the Tire Rack stats.

I have had two sets (incl original) of the stock Continentals, two sets of 17" ContiExtreme's, and a set of Nero Zero M&S on my '98 CLK320 -- which is now at 122K miles. By far, amongst these, the Pirelli's have been the best. The ContiExtreme's got *very* loud as the tread wore. The Pirelli's have stayed quiet, demonstrated great tread life, and handle very nicely.

Supposedly the PZero Nero M/S are the way to go -- a few months ago I looked into them against the Pilot A/S's and everybody who has tested the tires in this segment have ranked the Pirelli's as highest rated all-season tire for our cars, and in many testing categories the PZero Nero's test ratings were FAR above the other tires tested. If I was considering an all-season tire I would try them first. I swear by the PS2's but I have a feeling that the testors are right and the Pirelli is just a better all-season than the Pilot A/S.
