go to www.tirerack.com - they indicate the correct sizes. those are good. BTW, tire sizes are written as:

245/40/18
275/35/18

However, if you have dyslexia - I apoligize!

W211 Tire Sizing

245/40R18 FA
275/35R18 RA

245/35R19 FA
275/30R19 RA

245/30R20 FA
285/25R20 RA

Staggering on 18's & 19's and all 20's may need fender rolling to prevent rubbing issues.

If you run the 10" in the back you will have to roll the rear fenders.

Ken, what does that mean "roll the back fenders"?

Basically if you put your hand underneath the rear fenders and feel the fender lips, you will notice that a lip portion that is maybe 1/4 to 1/3 inch wide protruding towards the wheel/tire. A fender roll will take this lip and fold it upwards to give you more clearance to avoid rubbing issues when running staggered wheel/tire setups or more aggressive offsets (which push the wheels out more towards the fender line).

It is a common procedure when fitting plus size aftermarket wheels and tires to most cars. AMG cars also have it done at the factory as well as the AMG wheel setups are more aggressive than the stock ones. From an outward appearance you will not be able to notice. You will have to run your hand under the fender to feel whether the lip has been rolled up or not, so it is by no means a drastic measure such as cutting or flaring out fenders.

Usually a shop will have a fender rolling tool. As far as how they work, usually you will put the car on a lift or jack, and remove the wheel. The tool has one end that will bolt up to the axle using the factory lug bolts. It will then consist of an adjustable length arm with a hard rubber roller on the other side. A heat gun is used to warm the fender up (to prevent the paint from being damaged), and then the tool is used in a back and forth motion which rolls the fender lip in a nice even manner.

depends on the weather
while the W211 E55 uses a 265 in the rear the 275 works fine and is the size I would recommend

If you don't want to do any fender rolling at all on a W211 E320, I'd run an 8.5x18 wheel with a 31 offset on all 4 corners with 245/40R18 all around. If you stagger and do not roll the rear fenders, there is a good chance you will rub in the back.

Well, the proper rear stagger tire size to match the front's for your car is 275/35R18. I can't guarantee that a fender roll won't be necessary. Only way to tell for sure is to buy them and fit check. If your car is stock height without the sport package then most likely you will not have to roll the fenders. If the car has the sport package or if you have some heavy people in the back.... it may rub. It will also have alot to do with the wheels you choose and the offsets they are running.
