You guys realize that a lot of the Maya rims are identical to the Lowenhart rims but at a fraction of the cost, right?

The discontinued Lowenhart BR5 and the Maya DTM are only similar - not identical.

Correct, the MAYA and Lowenhart wheels are actually not at all the same, they just happen to be imported by the same company and marketed together. They are manufactured in Japan by 2 different companies.

I prefer Maya / Maido
