tire help plz
Can someone help me?? I have searched the entire website and google and can't find an answer. I went to the rim shop today and wanted to get some 19's for my 2006 C230 sport. The shop said that I could stuff 225/40/19 up front and 245/35/19 in the rear with the right offset. Is this true? I would think up front it would hit the strut perch. Can anyone one verrify if this tire size would fit? He said that it would fill up the wheel wells without having to lower the car. I would like to get these sizes for tires if they can fit in the wells without rubbing. Thank you for your time.

thanx
hey luke thanx for the quick response, would the tire size that you gave me be the exact same circumfrance as stock? i was looking to get something slightly larger to fill in the wheel wells with out having to lower the car, but i don't want it to rub.... is that even possible.

If you're going to go to 19's, go to 19's first keeping the same overall diameter of wheel + tire; then if you still ahve too much gap. lower the car -- but realize that you are spending money and changing the performance and ride characteristics of your car for what sounds to me may be purely cosmetic purposes. There is always a trade-off to modifying your car, even if it's just the money. Hopefully the trade-off is money for a better car. Sometimes the trade-off is money for a worse car.....
The right way to close wheelwell gap without going plus on your tires and wheels is to lower the car some. This will result in no negatives (if you don't lower it too much) and two positives: lower COG resulting in better handling, and improved appearance due to less wheelwell gap -- just my $.02.
