Fitment question E320
Hello , new to the forums here, I recently purchased a 99 e320 with stock wheels and would like to upgrade as economically as possible. I am lookong for some type of 5 star type wheel, 16" is fine and no more than a 17" r.
Does anyone know if 16" wheels from a 2006 280 SLK 16 x 7F , 16 x 8 R will fit on a 1999 E320 ? they both appear to have 5-112 pattern and 35 mm offset , will the stock lugs fit ? Is the 8" width too wide for the rear of the 320 ?

Sorry I need to clarify the previous post, the factory wheel offsets are 35 all around, the offsets from the slk 280 are et34 for the front 16 x 7's and et 30 for the rear 16 x 8 , so does anyone know if these will fit ?

7.0 et30:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 13mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 1mm
8.0 et34:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 5mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 17mm
You should look for a 17" rim using a 235/45/17 tire.

An offset does not have to be exact. There are always a range of offsets that will fit. For a 7.5 it could ranged from 30 to 41 or 42.

Thanks everyone, I think I will pass on the wheels that were on e-bay. Vinamg, the 17" are tempting if the price is right for me, but I just bought new 16" tires and I am also concerned about the ride quality of 16" vs. 17" since the 17" will be lower profile, 45 series vs. 55 series. Has anyone experienced 16" to 17" switch noticed any diminished ride quality ?
