Hey guys...I've been absent for a while, sorry about that! I read some of the postings on my last brake notice, and am really sorrry to see that there were some bad experiences. I had a good one, so I guess I was lucky. Anyway, to the point...the Audi got the APs slapped on it, and MAN...that thing stops! Because I need to let them "set in" for a few miles, I've not really had a chance to push them hard, but from what I can gather, they've shaved about 10 feet off the 60-0 distances! It's incredible! Honestly...if you need brakes, check Stillen and AP out. I really wish I had a CLK Benz to slap on a set! sigh...maybe someday!! Anyway, now I need a stickier set of tires to go with the brakes...Any suggestions?

congrats...stillen had this clk gtr imitation, well, ok, not imitation, but their own interpretation...slapped on some silly 6-pot ap brakes up front, 4-pots out back...and a whole lot of unholy horses...that was some sight...got a chance to visit stillen in costa mesa? they might even still have it...last time i saw was in 99 or 00 out near their service bay, nice and polished and shiny...wish i could keep my car like that...

Hey man...no, the car isn't there anymore. I know the one you mean though, I saw it on one of their brochures. It's a hot car. I noticed you have an 850...how do you like it?

i like everything about the car except how much it rattles and how much the ride sucks whenever going over bumps...it feels like it's hurting the car...volvo really dropped the ball here when it came with the suspension. (bilsteins and lower springs and 17" probably doesn't help .) other than that, love how it's the best sleeper...no one expects a volvo, let alone a wagon, to be fast (275hp).

sorry it took me so long to get back to you...glad to hear it's a nice car, save the ride. I've heard that about those cars, that they ride so harshly it's nearly impossible to love them. I've always thought about buying one, but just haven't done it. Maybe someday

Brembo makes a 13.1" and 14" kit using the Ferrari F50 caliper for the CLK. I had the 13.1" kit, and currently have the 14". The braking difference is equally incredible.

Brembo is a great maker, aren't they? My friend has a set on his Supra, and the car stops like there is no tomorrow. The problem he's had is warpage. He's an excellent driver, trust me on this one, but for whatever reason he's gone through two rotors. After looking at the APs, I noticed that they have fewer holes than the Brembos, thus, more overall material to deal with. Did you have warpage problems?

I'm on my second set of Brembo's (went from 13.1" to 14") and have not experienced any warpage. It is hard to make a real Brembo kit warp. Improperly drilled rotors will warp or crack every time. As long as the rotors are properly broken in, I would not expect any problems. Here is a picture of my old 13.1" kit, I'll post pictures of the 14" kit in a couple days. Both look great, especially when the car is in motion (that's all you see), but the 14's look amazing, as they leave about 1/2 an inch of clearance from the caliper to the edge of my 19" wheels.

I have Brembo GT 14"s on mine and must say they are absolutely awsome! Never have any problems. Only thing i gotta say though is that it must be properly broken in. If not you might have serious problems like rotor cracking or warpage.
