RE050A vs. Pzero Rosso vs. Yoko Advan Sport

Guys,

I need all the opinions I can get. I'm about to order tires for my 19x9, 19x11 iforged daytonas. I'm looking at 255/35-19 front and 305/30-19 rear.

At tirerack, three choices came up. Bridgestone RE050A, Pirellie Pzero Rosso, and Yokohama Advan Sport.

Personally, I have had Bridgestone S03s, RE040s, PS2s, Pirelli Pzeros, Goodyear f1 GSD3, and Contis. Out of all these, I had the best experience with the PS2s and SO3s. S03s were better in the rain.

So, out of the 2 tires from tirerack, which would you guys choose and why?

Hello, Sunny 55

I have been playing call and find the 305-30-19 for a set of kleenmann TS-6, the new stainless deep dish 19x11 for a 600
So far
Tire rack, out of stock up to thirty, unless returns come in. ya right
your behind me on that list of you order today!

I like the tire for rain and sport, we are in colorado, if you dont like the weather just wait an hour and it will rain hail or snow!

If you find them in stock send me a note! National Backorder from Yokahama
Ill do the same.

I'm leaning towards the bridgestone's.
On Tirerack, it says the 255/35-19s are backordered. When will they be in?

Looking for a new toy.
I can't speak to the other two, but I can say I was less than impressed with the PZero Rossos, especially in the dry. In the wet they're not bad, but I found them to have little grip on dry roads. I've replaced them with Potenza RE-01R's.

The nitto Injen has a listing for the 305-30-19 / 255-30-19
Ive gone through sets of the 555, like on my 6th set of them.
But have never run the weird cut tires for wet, SO slow to look at that tire for colorado.
At this point
Buy two sets of rear tires and get it over with!
Go do some burn outs!

The Nittos were cheaper!

They were around a grand for the set. three days to colorado and they are WAYYY better than the Pzeros.

Those things are like wet noodles on dry pavement (in my Opinion)
He had a "get by" set of rims on the S600 with those and it was all over on boost.

Can I actually post a picture? I think so!

It was 255/35/19 fronts, and 305/30/19 rears. The car needs realigned to 11's for the rear, but a quarter tank of gas says the nittos are better on dry than the Pzero's

Somebody with a tire rack logo, is asking me why would I align the rear with 11"s

THE camber is way off now, a percentage of the total distance is reflected in the camber....

the 15 foot burn marks on my epoxy floor shows the need to get the neg camber removed to put the most amount of tire on the ground and not just burn the inside of the tire off.

Just a FYI, the larger the rim the less camber your want to put the power to the ground evenly.

neg camber on a car with stagger is just a waste of the tire. at 680hp....

but we all have our opinions.
and we are all wrong in on way or another. its the internet...

and I miss driving the car.

I have the Yokos for an E46 & they very quiet and grips very well in the dry and wet. Very little rolling resistance.

I've heard good things about the RE050A Pole Position, but opted for the Advans b/c of OEM fitment for the Bentley and now for AMG.

Hey,

I got a few more miles on the nitto Ivo, Great tire, happy with it.

(invo not injen....my ability to type going down with the sun...)

When you lay down a spin the traction control is not triggered like it was on the PZero's. PS BUY A LSD DIFF.

Kleemann is the best dif for these cars. the fact no benz come with lsd and runs on ESP braking is silly. The car waggs all over if you spin and hit the esp one brake catches slipping rear wheel, locks , spins other side , locks, etc.

I ran a championship pro rally team and the fist time the SL600 wagged on the Zeros I could not believe it. Intolerable and the diff makes .3 seconds zero to sixty. with no hp mods...

Re050a?

<<I need all the opinions I can get. I'm about to order tires for my 19x9, 19x11 iforged Daytonas. I'm looking at 255/35-19 front and 305/30-19 rear. At Tirerack, three choices came up. I've spent a lot of money on Bridgestone tires in the last few years, buying three sets this year alone from Tirerack. And up until now I've been very happy with them. I used S0-3s on my C320 until they became unavailable so I bought two sets of RE050a Pole Positions earlier this year, a set for my Porsche (transformed the car) and a set for my C320 which were 225/45-17 & 245/40-17 on C36 AMG wheels. They were quieter than the S0-3s and great in the rain.

So, when my '08 C300 was about to arrive, I bought a set of 18" AMGs ($$$) for it and ordered another set of RE050A tires, except that Pole Positions weren't made in one of the sizes which are 225/40 and 255/35-18. I don't know whether to blame the 18" wheels or the non-PP tires but these things are MUCH noisier (even on the smoothest asphalt) and rougher. I was told the only difference was a compound change when the rubber wore down to a low level but it's clear that's not the only difference. I wonder if they will quiet down with some miles on them. I had a set of RE-71s on the Porsche long ago and they were the most god-awful noisy tires ever until I ground the edges down at the track.

Now I don't know what to do.

http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Etire%2Einvo%2Esizes

I paid just over a grand for the Nitto Invo. The nitto tire size chart for the Invo Lists both. It stopped tailwagging on esp lock up after they got on the sl600.

FYI: From what Ive learned if you dont room temp your advan sports over the winter they are damaged compound rubber blocks in the spring.

Availability on the size is key, for Colorado It was mail in those tires. My choices were few at the time of order. Good luck!
