do not listen to any advice from the person who told you that because it is so far from reality it's scary ... to lower a car install some lowering springs which are designed to lower the car while maintaining the proper spring rate ... changing spring pads can also lower the car slightlyOriginally Posted by epowers777

i would highly reccommend you slap your friend who suggested cutting springs of any kind.
You are then changing the spring rate by reducing the coils, which is unsafe, and will feel/ride/handle like crap.
Do it right or dont do it at all

I agree with you Luke@tirerack. Any advice that is so far from reality is unsafe and scary.
Try to ask some auto advice from an auto expert to make sure that your car will not harm to any wrong advice. I hope you learn from this.

If you cut the springs you get to pay for the job twice.....once for the labor to do it the first time, and twice when you get to redo it to make it right. Guess which is more cost effective regardless of the safety issues ??

Cut springs?
I thought that went out with the coffee can exhaust tip, fake big brake rotors, fake cell phone antenna and the most classic the plastic BOV with sound on demand.

if you are not, do yourself a favor and don't do it, it is the worst thing you can do to your car, and you will hate yourself for it.
