Bought Aftermarket Wheels...now they wont fit

Help!!

I ordered a set of Sport Edition KM11's with tires off Ebay for my 2004 CLK 320. I take them to a garage and they try to put them on. The lug nuts that the Ebay seller sent were too wide, and did not fit at all. I gave the mechanic the lugnuts from my OEM 16's, which were longer but not as wide, and these fit in the 5 holes. When they tried tightening them, however, the wheels stayed extremely loose. The mechanic suggested I get a lug nut the same length as the ones they sent me from Ebay, but with the smaller width of the OEM lugnuts. Will this fix my problem? I went to mercedes and they did not have any lug nuts of that size. Does anybody know where I can find lug nuts online? Or have any comments on whether the lug nuts will fix my problem? Also, the center cap would not fit over the front driver wheel because the hub was sticking out. Would changing the lug nuts fix this as well? Any help I can get would be appreciated. I really hope I can get these to fit, or get my money back. Thank you!

Interestingly the tirerack carries the KM11s but doesn't show fitment for your vehicle. Did you not STFF on here first?

he sent you Audi bolts because you purchased Audi wheels ... the KM11 is not produced in a fitment for a 2004 CLK

Wow...not good news. Is there any way the wheels will fit my car? I know it has the same bolt pattern, but whats different about the wheels that make it not fit a CLK? i am just curious so I can tell the seller, because he claims it just needs new lug bolts. thanks

you can install them on your CLK but, the reason we say it does not fit properly is because the center hub on your car is so , large that it will not allow the installation of the center cap.

thats exactly what happened when i tried to put the front ones one. besides the lug nuts not fitting, the center hub stuck out. is there anyway i can go around this problem, ie: get a different center cap? my guess is no...

then the wheel won't be hub-centric which is even worse than no center cap just get your money back and buy wheels which fit your car CORRECTLY

i looked up hubcrentric v. lugcentric...it just doesnt make sense to me. is this not recommended, or will it literally not be able to fit on my car. ive heard of people not recomending spacers before, but was not really sure why.

Hubcentric means the mating surfaces of the wheel and stub axle are machined for a tight fit to assure the wheel is properly centered. If the wheel isn't fitted with this mating, it will not be perfectly centered and you will never get it balanced. There is no way those wheels can be mounted satisfactorily if you ever plan on exceeding 40 MPH. Luke was being a tad too subtle perhaps with the "properly" line. If you can't get your money back, start looking for an Audi.

not willing

Well, the seller is unwilling to give a refund. He says I have to pay for shipping charges back to his company, a 15% restocking fee. Is there anything I can do to fight this? The listing says fits ALMOST all Mercedes C, CLK ,etc. I guess I should have been more careful.

Does anybody know of the best audi forums to list these wheels/tires for sale? Looks like I am stuck with them. Thank you.

With a wheelset that has limited fitment combined with a soft resale market,
perhaps eating the cost for return shipping and a 15% restock could be the most viable option. Good luck.

yea i posted them on the forums just to see tho. as of now I would be taking a 210 dollar hit, which although doesnt seem like much, is almost 1/3rd of what I paid for the whole set.

he basically refuses to budge on insisting that I pay the shipping price, unless I want to exchange for any set of Sport Edition or Rials. The thing is, I dont want to take another chance that the wheels he sends me wont fit my car again.

Have you contacted eBay? The seller defrauded you. You were supposed to be buying Mercedes wheels and he sold you Audi wheels. No Mercedes uses the Audi hub size.

I think I am going to. 200 isnt much, but he did give false advertising. What can ebay do besides give him a red flag? Also, I dont want to get him in trouble through ebay, and then have him not give me my partial refund because of it. last time i buy wheels from ebay!
