best suspension setup for SMOOTH ride?

question:
i have a 2002 c240 with amg staggered 18 x 8 & 9 225.40.18 and 255.35.18 pirelli p7000 with h&r sport springs...

and i hate the ride!!! i dont know if the tires are the source or if it is the springs. i know some have said pirelli tires have aweful ride quality and that the h&r springs handle well but are harsher than eibach. i am planning to get bilsteins whenever they come out for my car but want the smoothest ride possible. the ride now is worse than my civic back then with eibachs and tokicos. any recommendations on separate springs and shocks or coilover sets to have the smoothest ride that will still drop the car around 1.5 front and 1 back (approx)? rim and tire size will stay the same so the low profile tires will still make it bumpier. also my rear tires butterfly out too much, do eibachs or other mfg's also do this? thanks

This is easy, get the Carlsson Coilovers . The Carlssons are the smoothest best handling setup for the C-class that I have been in.

You won't be disappointed!

Running springs on OEM shocks is really just asking for trouble. Look into an aftermarket sport shock, like the Koni Adjustables. They're a smooth ride no doubt.

If you can afford the upgrade, invest in a quality coilover. The Carlsson kit is a top notch kit and certainly worth a look.

The H&R Coilovers might be another good option to consider.

ill check into the carlson kit.....i have been leaning on getting the bilsteins whenever they come out for the car and i think right now the only "big" name shock mfgr is koni. i heard bilsteins would be smoother than koni thats why im leaning on the bilsteins but what do u guys think? should i just swap out the h&r's for eibachs and get the koni or bilsteins? i havent checked the pricing for the carlson's but im sure they cost quite a bit...i also read that the h&r cupkit is a bit harsher since it drops the car lower....

The Carlssons cost a little more than the H&R coilovers, but I liked them so much I bought a set. If you have H&R springs and are looking for a smooth ride, I don't think the Bilsteins will do it for you. I had H&R with Bilstein on my E and it was way too stiff for my tastes. JamE55 will most likely disagree. It's all a matter of what you are looking for. I think Carlsson found the sweet spot between comfort and handling. They are worth the price.

Can't really say i disagree but to each his own. I find the Kleemann suspension suits my needs.

I don't remember the numbers, but the car in this picture has the front set at about the middle of the range and the rear close to the highest setting.

I see Carlsson only has the coilover for the C-class and nothing for a 99 clk430. Anyone have any input on the Vogtland coilovers? I too would like the lowered appearance with a smooth ride. Kleeman?

I have the Eibach/Bilstein Sports on my 400E and think it is a bit too harsh.

I don't think Vogtland has coilovers for the CLK.

If you like the drop of the Eibachs, keep them and just switch shocks to Koni adjustables. You can get FREE shipping right now.
