Question all season performance tires?

Been eyeing the Yokohama AVS dB for a while now.. but recently a host of complaints (on Tirerack and other online tire retailers) regarding its thread life and rapidly decreasing noise performance.

Any suggestions?

I guess the three most paramount tire characteristics I want:
#1-wet handling (ie., hydroplane resistance, braking)
#2-thread life
#3-light snow capability (I have dedicated winter tires)

You may ask why I would want an allseason when I already have snowies, .. it's because I don't want to spend on the added cost of a dedicated summer tire (nor need the capabilities of a full-fledged, summer-only Max Performance tire)

and i like the idea of having all-seasons as a "just in case"

I'm looking for the same type tire...except for the snow (I'm in Houston) and also require a QUIET TIRE in addition to those mentioned above.

I was thinking of Continental ContiTouring Contact CH95
Size:225/45-17..ONLY $78 at TIRE RACK

the back..245/45/17 only $108

these tires are std on the 03 E320

SP SPort is Dunlop....

I have the Michelin A/S on my stock 17's and they were really nice and get great tread life. I'm actually going to sell these wheels if you are interested.

Just from my experience I'd say the Mich A/S is top of the line, but they are the most exspensive as well.

Jeremy,

What are you asking for your Michelins? How much tread is left?

Thanks!

RE950's are Bridgestones, the SP's are Dunlops and the Pilots are Michelins.

I've also been reading really good reviews of the Sumitomo HTR+. I'll probably get a set for my mom's car when it needs new tires.

I'm riding on Toyo FZ-4's, which are pretty good as well.
