E320 CDI Low Rolling Resistance - Primacy MVX

My Energy's are almost gone at 56,000 miles and just go a hole in one tire...so time to replace them (was shooting for 60K).

I was looking at Primacy MVX4 for low rolling resistance but can not seem to find them in my 225/55/16 size. Why not?

Other recommendations for low rolling resistance tires. I usually get around 33-36mpgs on this car and would like to maintain the fuel mileage.

Also, what about snows for this car? Can I run only snows on rear? Or does this car need 4...I live in Northern NJ with trips to VT for skiing. With gas prices dropping so fast, my continue to drive Expedition.
Thanks,
Ed

If you do snow tires, you should put them on all 4 wheels. That is the safest setup.

Nokian has been making a lot of their tires low rolling resistance. If you wanted an allweather tire I would recommend the Nokian WRG2. They are rated for servere snow service and have a low rolling resistance.http://www.nokiantires.com/tyre?id=1...me=Nokian+WRG2

It looks like you can get the Nokians from www.tiresbyweb.com or from a local distributor like STS.

If you want good fuel economy, go for dedicated summer tires instead of all season, the handling in dry and wet will improve quite a lot too.

Also, get a complete set of winters.

Bought these for our '05 cdi...fuel mileage hasn't changed from OEM tires. Also, though they're 45k tires, we already have 40k on ours and there is well over half tread left.

I usually never buy Michelins because they're overpriced (albeit great tires), but these are reasonably priced AND outperform the oem tires in every aspect.

What tires are the above? Exalto's? When you pull up the browser, it starts you from the beginning.
Thanks....

Yes, the Pilot Exaltos in 225/55/16. They run $151 each including mount/balance/road hazard.

YEa man DO NOT do a combination of 2 different tires. When I say that of course I mean two summer and two winter. This is not the best way to have your shoes on if you know what I mean. Please take my advice, get all 4 the same!!

depends on the weather
the Primacy MKV4 is the direct replacement for the Energy MXV4 plus and does have a low rolling resistance similar to the Energy

Except it's not available in 225/55-16 and the Energy remains the tire for the W211.
