Brembo 14" upgrade
Note: can't use 17" spare for the front axle.
Compared to the stock E55 330mm (13.2") rotor (2 pistons sliding steel calipers) the Brembo upgrade shaves 11.7 lb per side. Brake feel/modulation is improved though. Remember the E55 set-up is no slouch. With a street/stock tire, both stock/Brembo set-up will overpower the front tires easily. With the race tire at the track, I believe the Brembo set-up will shines.
You can also use the E55/CLK55 330mm rotors and calipers to upgrade a stock 430 front brake.
thanks!
So you mean that other people who've i seen with the brembo calipers on the back too have money to burn? I'm just trying to find out what all do you get with this kit? I'll call the mfg and ask them.
thanks!
Just like what Sleestack said, since most of the braking is done on the front axle, the rear upgrade is more of a luxury.
On some of the car, the rear does not come with ventilated disc and hence the upgrade to the ventilated disc. Even the Brabus top brake upgradefor the E-class only uses 330mm front with 300mm rear plus the fixed 4 piston calipers.
I believe Brembo does not offer the rear brake upgrade for the e-class. Only the front with 330mm rotors and F40 calipers or 355mm rotors w/F50 calipers. I chose to go with the 355mm rotors since the E55 already come with 330mm rotors (front).
One of the reason of the upgrade is also to lower unsprung weight. As I mentioned on my earlier post, the upgrade sheds 23.4lbs (11.7lbs/side) from the front axle. Mainly from the lighter Brembo aluminium rotor hats (stock is steel) and the aluminium calipers (stock is steel).
Caution: due to the wider profile of the Brembo calipers, some wheels will require spacers to fit.
Rather than spending your money or rear brake upgrade, it is much better spent on high quality lighter (forged) wheels. Another problem here, hardly anything is available for our MB in disc look and light (forged), mostly thin spokes.

Understood what you're saying. I guess i'm just trying to see how these other cars with brembo brakes front and rear do it? I mean most of the braking are done on the front but if i were to go for the looks i would've wanted to have the Brembo rotors and calipers front and rear. Again going for the looks.

On the E55, there is quite some space left between the stock AMG caliper and the spokes of the front AMG 18" monoblock
I believe diameter wise it should be Ok since my E55 come with 17" spare.
