Eibach Suspension Question

Hey guys. I am fairly new to the benz community.
I was looking to mod and I think the first mod i should do is suspension.

So will eibach springs work with OE shocks? or will i need to replace the shocks as well?

Thanks
Brian

depends on the weather
while they will work most choose to change to a better damper at the time of installation as the labor charges will be the same if doing springs or springs and dampers. The higher spring rate of the Eibach springs will cause the OE dampers to wear faster leading to a bouncy ride

according to the eibach page, there is only one spring for me, i think thats the prokit. I am only going to be getting to springs for a more sporty look. I do not think I will pushing the car that hard. right now the car has about 60k miles on the stock shocks. from your extended experience, how long do you think my shocks would last if i just kept them stock with eibach springs?

for the daily driver, will aftermarket shocks be needed?

Thanks Luke! I really appreciate you helping me.

Hey I have the Eibach Pro kit on my ride..I havent change the shock yet just because I only drive for two days a week (wknd car) I have the Lexus and the Honda for the weekday drive so yea but I can tell you the ride quality right now is pretty smooth not bouncing at all I guess it just because the shock is still good I had it on for about a month. If you looking for the daily drive it would be better if you can replace those OEM shock with the aftermarket ..Just like Luke said the labor cost is the same.

I take it that you drive a 208, the shocks and springs on your vehicle are separate and does not require you to remove both to change either/or. so with that being said, changing the springs will not cost the same as changing your springs and shocks. it does require some more work, not much, so maybe your mechanic can help you out with the pricing involved. i do as well drive a clk430 and was just driving on eibachs as a daily. they maybe lasted 6 months with maybe 10k on them. i highly recommend changing out the shocks too, bilsteins sports are what i just recently put in and it is much more stiffer then stock but it is not bouncy anymore. ebay have some nice deals on bilsteins

he does have a 209, never mind my rambling, hahaha but whatever i said still applies to the rears hehehe. but yes still might as well change out the shocks too, because the fronts would still be the same amount of work

again sorry for my mistake
