Hot tip on TPMS for aftermarket wheels

I just purchased some new amg replica 22 inch wheels for my 2007 R350 and wanted to pass on some info as it relates to the 433 Mhz TPMS system in the newer mercedes benz cars. Don't buy the factory TPMS system or any other sensor that is 150 a sensor. Instead buy the 433 ( MUST be 433 Mhz) sensors for a ford truck ( 2009 or higher) on ebay. I put these ford sensors in my wheels and they work like a charm - no issues and they only ran $79 for a whole SET ( 5 units).... I was skeptical, but it works and it is nice to not have to pay the same for a sensor that you pay for a tire....

Just be sure your car is 433 and not 315 on the sensors.

My car ('04 SL55) didn't come with the TPMS option installed... can I just buy and install a set of these to get TPMS functionality? i.e. anyone know if the vehicles ship with TPMS computers installed, but just not the tire sensors?

So my 2010 ML350 is able to illustrate the tire pressure for each time through the TPMS. I have noticed that after I got 17" snow tires and wheels, the air pressure value for a couple of the tires is not similar to the readings from my tire pressure gauge. I got a
Accutire Programmable Digital Tire Pressure Gauge and what I heard it is very reliable. My question is whether TPMS gauges ever go bad.

Hmm I can't seem to find any fords 2009 and up that use 433 mhz.. they all seem to use 315 mhz.. I found that the 2003 ford explorer uses 433 though (old P/N 2L2Z1A150AA new P/N 4L2Z1A150BA).. not sure if I should try it.

By chance jhepworth, you might have a part number or model number of the original Ford car? cheers and TIA!

For reference, I found this ford document that outlines their different sensors and all the 09+ seem to be 315MHZ
