Wheel suggestions for silver SL55 AMG?

Was hoping people could offer some advice as to a good wheel setup for an '04 SL55. Some things:

-- would like to go with 20" rims... they appear to best fit the wheel well
-- Anthracite or Gunmetal with chrome lips...
-- either 20x11 or 20x10.5 rear, with 20x8.5 front

questions:

-- how much will my ride comfort be affected in going from my stock 18" up to 20's?
-- what is the best way to lower the vehicle... lowering links or having a tech set a new ride height using the STAR diagnostic machine?
-- anyone experiencing rubbing when turning the fronts, or fender bumping in the rear? I'd like to use the right rims / tire size to avoid those problems.

Thanks!

Were you looking for a less expensive 1pc cast wheel, or a custom crafted wheel?

Here's a pic of our VS4 Wheel on a 05 SL55. No rubbing, no fender mods, no issues whatsoever. The front wheel is 9.5" and the rear is an 11"

That looks awesome! I'm looking for 3 pc design. I like the VS4s, beautiful, perhaps in silver. I think all chrome on a silver car would be too much bling factor.

Also, there must be some compromise on ride quality with that much of a drop, no? I think it might be a little too much drop then what I'm looking for. I'd probably go an inch or so higher.

What kind of lowering method did you use or recommend? Lowering links or computer flash?

Check with Sonic Motorsports in Mountain View off El Camino where most of the local BMW/MB crowd goes for aftermarket. They carry all the major lines and won't steer you wrong. Can probably hook you up with tire, install, and alignment package as well. Ask for Darwin and tell him I referred you.

Yeah I'd agree, all chrome would be a bit much.

The ride is purely subjective, but i find the SL's to still be comfy with wheels and lowering. Its more sporty and less floaty. This car has the KLEEMANN lowering module. We've installed both the modules and links, both get the job done. The module offers more flexibility, but the links work just fine.

Our dealer in So Cali is SHORELINE MOTORING in Huntington Beach (866) 55 SHORE ask for Paul.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
That's a beautiful setup....

I'm guessing a set of those is in the $5k range (or more), without tires. And yes, as long as everything else is in good running order, the ride quality on lowered SL
s is still really good.
