Rims and Vehicle Questions - '03 CLK 500

Hey everyone, I have a 2003 CLK 500 and was given a set of 20" Lowenhart LT5's. The rims were originally on a S 55 AMG. Does anyone know if these rims will fit on a CLK 500, or if it needs spacers or adjustments to get it to fit? Everywhere I looked doesn't have these wheels listed for the CLK model, only S and CLS. Does it mean it's still not possible to get it work correctly?

Thanks for any responses.

yes they should fit. just put them on. i doubt you will have a problem with fitment. the sizes are not that much different than stock to where it would rub or not clear brakes.

Ok, thanks for the response. I started putting them on and ran into a problem. When I put the front wheel on, the shocks/spring is in the way and the tire won't go on. I would need the spring to be up another inch or so for the tire to clear. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

That's one of the issues running 20's, you need to ensure that the offsets are perfect and run smaller tires. 20's and CLS' run bigger tires than a CLK can.

Sweet Jones, where are you getting your fitment information from? Just off the bat, there are some modifications that need to be done to get S/CLS class wheels to be interchangeable with CLK's, so how did you know they would fit or wouldn't run into a problem without tire sizes and offset information?

because most or the majority of mercedes benz wheels offsets are about roughly the same all around it shouldnt be hard to fit. you guys make a huge deal about 10mm which is hardly nothing at all.

10mm = .39in

with a lot of people running weak wheels and ugly gaps its possible to fit most oem wheels from car to car. unless you plan on dumping the car to the floor i dont see why threy would not fit. offset and tire size are the biggest factors just like you said in your post above.

i have a lot of experience with aggressive wheel fitment on quite a few different types of vehicles except mercedes but the idea is the same.
